Rapid City's Jakeb Sullivan finishes 3rd season with Frankfurt Galaxy

FRANKFURT, Germany — Rapid City native Jakeb Sullivan recently capped off his third season playing professionally in the European League of Football (ELF). 

The St. Thomas More High School graduate led the Frankfurt Galaxy to the ELF semifinals, falling to the Rhein Fire, 42-23. 

Sullivan, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback, completed 26 of 36 passes for 338 yards and one passing touchdown against the Rhein Fire on Sept. 17. This season, Sullivan helped the Galaxy to a 12-3 record, with all three losses against Rhein. 


Sullivan, who missed five games due to a knee injury, played nine contests for Frankfurt this season. He passed for 2,280 yards and 20 touchdowns, while completing 62 percent of his passes. 

The 29-year-old Sullivan has quarterbacked Frankfurt since the ELF was founded in 2021. He led the Galaxy to the championship in the inaugural season. In 2021, Sullivan finished with a league-best 32 passing touchdowns and was second in passing yards (2,609). 


The ELF currently consists of 17 teams located in Germany, Poland, Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic and France, with plans to expand to 24 teams in 2024.

Sullivan graduated from South Dakota School of Mines as one of the best quarterbacks in school history. He finished the 2018 season with a record-setting 293 of 461 for 3,576 yards and 32 touchdowns passes. He averaged 325.1 yards per game, which led the entire NCAA Division II.

He also had 10 rushing touchdowns and carried the ball 129 times for 340 yards. Sullivan graduated from Mines with 17 school records. He led the conference in passing yards, passing attempts, completions and yards per game.
