CUSTER — Red Cloud’s Rarity Cournoyer and Belle Fourche’s Lane Krautschun ran to individual cross-country titles at Thursday’s Eldon Kudson Invitational at Rocky Knolls Golf Course.

Cournoyer covered the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes :31.86 seconds, ahead of Custer’s Brit Wheeler (21:16) and Sturgis’s Iris Zylstra (21:28). Belle Fourche’s Lia Mundt (21:34) and Rapid City Christian’s Taylor Herrelson (21:36) rounded out the top-five performers.

Krautschun covered the 5,000-meter course in 17:08, ahead of Sturgis athletes Ty Petrocco (17:26) and Quinn Bruch (17:47). Newcastle, Wyoming’s Sam Cunningham (17:52) and Custer’s Drew Lehman (17:54) rounded out the top-five performers. 

Team points were not kept at Thursday’s meet.
