RAPID CITY — The Red Cloud girls earned the top-three spots at Saturday’s Lakota Nation Invitational cross-country meet.

Red Cloud’s Ashlan Blount covered the 5,000-meter distance at Executive Golf Course in 18 minutes and :20.43 seconds. Red Cloud’s Jade Ecoffey (18:27.61) and Rarity Cournoyer (19:16.29) placed second and third, respectively. Lakota Tech’s Taylor Byerley (19:21.17) rounded out the top-five runners. 

On the boys side, Rapid City Central’s Trevor Thomsen won the 5,000-meter run in 16:37.20. Rapid City Central’s James Orelup (16:43.62) and Standing Rock, North Dakota’s Lance Bradley (16:45.64) rounded out the top-three runners. Rapid City Central’s Bailen Hayford (16:51.83) and Gage Dietterle (16:54.75) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. 

In the team standings, Rapid City Central won the girls team title with 26 points. Rapid City Stevens (30) and Wyoming Indian (70) rounded out the top three. 

Rapid City Central won the boys race with 18 points, finishing ahead of Rapid City Stevens (49) and Standing Rock (65).
