Wrestlers from Brandon Valley, Philip Area and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon have earned Wrestler of the Year honors from the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association. 

Brandon Valley’s Navarro Schunke (Class A), Philip Area’s Burk Blasius (Class B) and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon’s Peyton Hellman (girls) each received honors by the SDWCA. 

In addition, 605sports.com was recognized for its press coverage by the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association.

The awards were presented over the weekend at the State AAU Wrestling Tournament in Rapid City.

• Assistant Boys Coach of the Year: David Michaud, Lakota Tech
• Junior High Coach of the Year: John Wayne Kalda, Pierre
