BURKE — Class B No. 4 Burke outlasted Miller in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-19, 13-25, 20-25 and 15-11. 

Burke’s Emmie Hausmann finished with 17 kills and 20 digs. Brianna Davis added 15 kills. Kyrie Matucha posted 24 digs and three aces, while Emmy Spencer posted 18 digs and 15 assists. Breckynn Pistulka tallied 11 assists. Katelyn Hagberg finished with two blocks. 

Miller’s Paige Werdel finished with 12 kills and 17 digs. Kate Lichty tallied eight kills and two aces. Emma Pugh posted three aces and 14 digs. Gracen Werdel finished with 29 assists. Jolie Palmer had 25 digs, while Kaihlyn Anderberg totaled 15 digs.   

Lyman 3, New Underwood 0

NEW UNDERWOOD — Lyman swept New Underwood in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-20 and 25-20.

Jordyn Scott led the Raiders with 12 kills and two aces, Kenzie Wagner tallied eight kills and three aces, Brooke Montgomery had five kills, Mak Scott recorded four kills and two aces, Claire Griffith added three kills while Bree Smart totaled 28 assists, four aces and two kills in the win.

New Underwood’s stats were not reported.

Winner 3, Sully Buttes 0 

WINNER — Winner swept Sully Buttes in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-12 and 25-11.

Winner’s Livvy Audiss posted 11 kills, three aces and one block. Payton Sargent and Lilly Barfuss totaled nine kills apiece. Sargent added seven digs. Alice Wilson had seven digs and three assists. Gracie Root had three aces. Barfuss and Kylie Sachtjen each had blocks. 

Sully Buttes stats were not reported. 

Dell Rapids St. Mary 3, Canistota 0

CANISTOTA — Dell Rapids St. Mary swept Canistota during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-13 and 25-17.

DRSM’s Harper Werdel tallied eight kills, Emersyn Herber had six kills and seven blocks, Natalie Gilbert added 18 assists and three aces, Madelyn Klein recorded seven assists and 19 digs while Layla Joe Hanosn added 15 digs in the win.

For Canistota, Ember Schenkel had three kills, 10 digs and two aces, Ellie Becker and Emma Sandman each had two kills, Abby Keller recorded three assists while Becker had four assists. Clara Remacle totaled 15 digs, Schenkel had 10 digs while Becker recorded eight digs in the loss.

Sioux Valley 3, Beresford 1

VOLGA — Sioux Valley defeated Beresford during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-17, 26-24, 17-25 and 25-20.

SV’s Lacey Langland had 14 kills and 10 digs, Elise Lemme recorded 11 kills, Emma Gorvin collected seven kills and 15 digs, Abygale Degen and Sienna Weiss each had six kills, while McKinley Schwab and Machaela Gerasch each had 20 assists in the win.

For Beresford, Harley Koth had nine kills, Kendra Ellis tallied eight kills, Kate Degen, Amy Lerseth and Kennedy Merrigan each had seven kills, Tavyn Valder collected 29 digs while Degen dished out 32 assists in the loss.

Baltic 3, Sioux Valley 0

VOLGA — Baltic swept Sioux valley during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 28-26 and 25-22.

Baltic’s Tenley Witzel had 12 kills and 20 digs, Meredith Larson recorded nine kills and 15 assists, Kaiya Lenderts added 19 digs and five assists, while Sophia Even had 15 assists in the win as well.

For SV, Maci Licht tallied 11 kills, Elise Lemme and Emma Gorvin each had seven kills, Talya Vincent tallied 21 digs, Machaela Geraasch had 19 assists while McKinley Schwab totaled 12 assists in the loss.

Deubrook Area 3, Great Plains Lutheran 0

WHITE — Deubrook Area defeated Great Plains Lutheran in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 18-25 and 25-20.

Deubrook Area’s Chloe Haines finished with 12 kills and five blocks. Kylee Johnson totaled 10 kills, 10 assists and 17 digs. Matti Ramlo posted five kills and five blocks. MaKenna Ekern posted 24 assists. Maddie Schulte tallied 20 digs and Neely Gustad posted 17 digs. Brynlee Hanson had three blocks. 

Great Plains Lutheran stats were not reported. 

Sioux Falls Christian 3, West Central 0

HARTFORD — Class A No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian swept West Central during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-13 and 25-15.

SFC’s Tavyn Sichmeller had 14 kills, Kinzie Poppema tallied nine kills, Jayla Overman recorded eight kills and three blocks, Meredith Nelson had 37 assists, four blocks and two aces, Jasmine Vander Haar tallied 10 digs while Aubrie Van Beek had seven digs in the win.

For WC, Sophia Gross had 10 kills and three blocks, Madi Ingalls recorded nine kills and five digs, Cambree Ideker recorded 20 assists and eight digs while Ellie Knight had 11 digs in the loss.

Wagner 3, Gregory 0

WAGNER — Wagner swept Gregory in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22 and 25-20.

Wagner’s Ravyn Medricky finished with 12 kills and 10 digs. Brianna Fuchs and Hannah Holzbauer posted six kills apiece. Holzbauer added three aces. Braxton Nedved tallied 23 assists and five aces. Brylie Link had three aces and one block. 

Gregory stats were not reported.

Castlewood 3, Iroquois-Lake Preston 0

LAKE PRESTON — Castlewood swept Iroquois-Lake Preston during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-10 and 25-9.

Castlewood’s Cassidy Kirwan had 11 kills and nine digs, Claire Horn added eight kills, seven aces and seven digs, Ava Ruml totaled seven kills, Lilly Jacobson had six kills, Cydni Kudrna totaled 15 assists while Nora Solberg tallied 11 digs and two aces in the win.

For ILP, Natalie Cundy had two kills, Sydney Bonomi had two kills and three assists, Hadlee Holt totaled 10 digs and two blocks, Brityn Davies also had three blocks while Madison Steffensen recorded nine digs in the loss.

Centerville 3, Marty 0

CENTERVILLE — Centerville swept Marty during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-12, and 25-2.

Lillee Shearer led the Tornadoes with nine kills and five digs, Iziie Eide had seven kills, four blocks, three digs and two aces, Ashlyn Hagena added six kills, Haley Childress dished out 20 assists while Tessa Eide had 13 digs and six aces in the win.

REDFIELD — Redfield swept Sisseton in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-22, 25-13 and 25-21.

Redfield’s Ceci Suchor finished with seven kills, while Kinley Smith posted five kills and three aces. Mady Morrissette had three aces. Layla Hardie posted three assists. Hayden Gall had six blocks. Katryn Evans finished with 12 digs and Hardie had 12 digs.

Hamlin 3, Milbank 0

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Milbank in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-9, 25-14 and 25-9.

Hamlin’s Addien Neuendorf finished with seven kills, while Addie Jensen posted six kills. Jade Thue posted five kills. Issie Steffensen finished with six aces and 23 assists, while Ella Smith posted four aces. Jayci Trowbridge had three aces and seven digs. Paxton Neuendorf added eight digs. Kayde Nebel and Jensen had blocks.

For Milbank, Belle Pauli finished with eight kills. Adison Pauli posted 13 digs and Jacy Dexter had nine digs and one ace. Avery Schuneman tallied seven assists.

Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept Sunshine Bible Academy during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-5 and 25-10.

Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller had 11 kills, three digs, five aces and one block, Jalyssa Hutson had four kills, Karlie Weisser totaled three kills and one block, Josie Knutson recorded 16 assists, Gracyn Kadlec had five assists while Brianna Geditz recorded 14 digs and five aces in the win.

For SBA, Cierra Mickelson had three kills, Breanna Thieman tallied eight digs while Tessa Hinman had four digs in the loss.

Lennox 3, Madison 0

MADISON — Lennox swept Madison during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-8, 25-18 and 26-24.

For Madison, Lydia Nelson had 12 kills, 14 digs and three blocks, Java Engels added seven kills, nine digs and two blocks, Karley Theede dished out 24 assists while Avery Schamber tallied nine digs in the loss.

Brandon Valley 3, Watertown 1

BRANDON — Class AA No. 2 Brandon Valley defeated No. 4 Watertown in four sets during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The st scores were 25-20, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-18.

Jersie Melcher led the attack with 13 kills and six aces, Mya VanWesten added 18 digs, Kennedi Boomsma tallied five blocks while Logan McGuire recorded 36 assists in the win.

Watertown’s stats were not reported.
