Platte-Geddes 22, Kimball/White Lake 20

PLATTE — Class 9A No. 4 Platte-Geddes outlasted Kimball/White Lake in Friday high school football action. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 20, Winner 8

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Elk Point-Jefferson held off Class 11B No. 4 Winner in Friday high school football action. The Huskies rushed for 324 yards on 40 carries. 

EPJ’s Luke Schmitz finished with 144 yards rushing on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. Beau Schmitz tallied 88 yards rushing on eight carries and scored two touchdowns. Luke Schmitz, Jace Shatswell, Levi Hanson and Beau Schmitz had 4.5 tackles apiece.

For Winner, Ryken Orel hauled in a 45-yard touchdown pass from Quincy Phillips. Camdyn Anderson rushed for 55 yards on five carries. Phillips passed for 79 yards. Seth Heath posted seven tackles on defense. The Warriors were held to 149 yards rushing on 40 carries. 


Dell Rapids 43, Rapid City Christian 8

RAPID CITY — Class 11A Dell Rapids rolled past Rapid City Christian in Friday high school football action. 

Rapid City Christian’s Peyton Glenn completed 8-of-20 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown pass. Lars Kieffer hauled in three catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Reed Lindberg posted 21 tackles on defense. Garrett Mellendorf and Reagan Koskan each had eight tackles for the Comets. 

Dell Rapids stats were not reported. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 54, Colman-Egan 6

COLMAN — Trimmier Hanson powered Class 9B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary to a Friday high school football win. The Cardinals finished with 459 total yards, including 371 on the ground. 

Hanson rushed for 244 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns. Lincoln LeBrun added 98 yards rushing on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns. Jaxon Baumberger tossed a touchdown pass to Hanson. Isaac Ahlers hauled in a 45-yard touchdown reception from Jacob Geraets. Logan Bauer posted 6.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. LeBrun returned an interception for a touchdown.


Wagner 20, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 8

MOUNT VERNON — Class 11B No. 2 Wagner held off Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a Friday high school football win. 

Wagner’s Gannon Knebel finished with 103 yards passing and threw a touchdown pass. He added 54 yards rushing and another score. He tallied 7.5 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense. 

Shea Kjeldgaard hauled in a touchdown reception and 30 yards receiving. Payne Petry rushed for 53 yards and hauled in 20 yards receiving. Carlos Galindo added 58 yards receiving. Ky Arpan returned an interception for a touchdown, while Jesse Zephier had an interception. Kjeldgaard had one sack and forced a fumble. Bennet Kuhlman recovered a fumble.

MVP stats were not reported. 


Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 53, Webster Area 0

WEBSTER — Luke Larson tossed three passing touchdowns as Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central blanked Webster Area on Friday. 

Larson completed 10-of-13 passes for 225 yards and three touchdown passes. Nathan Giakowski caught four catches for 80 yards and two touchdown passes. Grant Edwards hauled in a 40-yard touchdown reception, while Colby Flowers had three catches for 69 yards. 

Wesley Molnar rushed for 115 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns. Larson added four carries for 44 yards and a touchdown. Molnar posted three tackles and an interception on defense. Ethan Amick also intercepted a pass. 

Webster Area stats were not reported. 


Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 61, Gayville-Volin 6

GAYVILLE — Class 9AA No. 1 Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy improved to 4-0 with a convincing win over Gayville-Volin on Friday.

FMFA’s Riley Tschetter passed for 109 yards and rushed for 60 yards. Tschetter passed for two touchdown passes and rushed for another score. Luke Peters had two rushing touchdowns and returned a blocked punt for a score. Tate Sorensen and David Walter both hauled in touchdown catches. Karter Weber added a punt return for a score and Easton Tschetter had a pick-six.

For GV, Hunter Wuebben hauled in a 45-yard touchdown reception from Jeremiah Gustad. Gustad passed for 163 yards, while Wuebben hauled in 112 yards receiving. 


Parker 25, Baltic 6

PARKER — Parker pulled away from Baltic for a Friday high school football win.

Parker’s Gavin Flannery rushed for 68 yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. Landon Wieman added 66 yards rushing on 11 carries and scored a touchdown. Colin Robertson rushed for 48 yards on eight carries and a score. Wieman added 68 yards passing. Tonner Peterson posted four catches for 32 yards receiving. Jonas Sattler and Robertson had six tackles apiece. Sully Sattler added an interception. 

For Baltic, Jax Vrchota had a 45-yard interception return for a score. Jack Wiseman finished with 25 yards rushing and Gavin Skotvold passed for 30 yards. Treylen DeHaven had 20 yards receiving. Carter Warren had five tackles.


Garretson 35, Canistota 14

CANISTOTA — Colton Buchholz tossed four touchdown passes as Garretson pulled away from Canistota during Friday’s high school football action.

Buchholz completed eight-of-16 pass attempts for 223 yards and four touchdowns. Buchholz also rushed for a touchdown on eight carries, adding 26 yards as well. Jackson Arend caught four passes for 88 yards and a score, Chase Costello hauled in a 71-yard touchdown while Jack Alder added two catches for 51 yards and a touchdown. Costello led the defense with 10.5 tackles as well.

For Canistota, Nate Merrill threw 27 times, completing 13 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Dayne Krinke had four catches for 67 yards while Carter Becker hauled in three passes for 54 yards and a score. Prayden Acheson ran 11 times for 33 yards and a touchdown for the Hawks in the loss, adding 9.5 tackles on defense as well.


Deuel 26, Flandreau 14

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from Flandreau for a Friday high school football victory.

Deuel’s Aidan Sievers passed for 224 yards and threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to Olivier Fieber. Sievers added two rushing touchdowns and 48 yards rushing. Fieber had six catches for 114 yards receiving. Gavin Kloos racked up 132 rushing yards on 16 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Kaleb TeKrony finished with nine tackles and Sievers posted seven tackles.

For Flandreau, Xavier Bien passed for 143 yards and tossed a touchdown to Justin Klein. Tucker Hammer had 57 yards receiving. Klein had 117 yards rushing on 16 carries and scored a touchdown. Hammer posted nine tackles. 

 

Madison 43, Custer 0

MADISON — Class 11A No. 3 Madison blanked Custer in Friday high school football action. 

Madison’s Henry Veenhof completed 10-of-16 passes for 267 yards and threw four passing touchdowns. Caleb Hodges rushed for 50 yards and a score. Shane Veenhof added a passing touchdown, while he hauled in 113 yards receiving and caught a touchdown pass. Cohen Hahn, Nolan Nielsen, Myles Schneider and Henry Veenhof caught touchdown passes. Luke Johnson posted six tackles, while Tyan Braskamp and Brady Martin had sacks.

For Custer, Daniel Immormino rushed for 90 yards, while Johnour Kawika passed for 73 yards. Brady Virtue hauled in four catches for 59 yards. 


Huron 16, Tea Area 0

TEA — Class 11AA No. 5 Huron earns its second consecutive ranked win after shutting out Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area Friday night.

The Tigers were led by Landon Hulst, who tallied 135 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, Anderson Porisch had six completions for 47 yards, with Mason Jurgens hauling in four catches for 28 yards. Oakley Anderson led the defense with eight tackles while Jeremy Hofer and Ty Kleinsasser each had six tackles in the win.

For Tea Area, Mitch Grant completed six passes for 28 yards. Grant also led the team in rushing with 24 yards on 10 carries. Emmett DeGeest led the Titan defense with 12 tackles while Carter Brown netted eight tackles as well.
