Sept. 29 Volleyball Roundup - Harrisburg tops Sioux Falls Jefferson in four sets

Harrisburg 3, Sioux Falls Jefferson 1

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 3 Harrisburg defeated Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Jefferson in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-22.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Maddie Paulsen finished with 12 kills and five blocks. Taylor Evenson recorded eight kills, while Brooke Thorstenson had five kills. Presly Pastian added 27 assists. Cora Hokenstad and Ella Kvernmo had 21 and 13 digs, respectively. Kvernmo added two aces. 

No Jefferson stats were reported. 


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

CORSICA — Tripp-Delmont/Armour swept Corsica-Stickney in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 25-9, 25-12, and 25-8.

TDA’s Gracey Schatz tallied 11 kills and four blocks, while Megan Reiner had seven kills and five digs. Morgan Gemar recorded four aces, three kills, and two digs, while Hannah Stremick had nine aces and five digs. Faith Goehring and Callie Westendorf added 10 and six digs, respectively.

CS’s Payton DeLange, Brooklyn Bosma, and Sophie DeLange each had three kills. Sutten Eide led with 11 assists and six digs, while Ashlyn Lefers had five digs.


Platte-Geddes 3, Lyman 0

PRESHO — Class A No. 5 Platte-Geddes swept Lyman for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-9, 25-9, and 25-10.

PG was led by Regan Hoffman with 13 kills and eight digs, while Karly VanDerWerff tallied 12 kills, nine digs, and two blocks. Cadence Van Zee had six kills, four digs, and two aces, while Avery DeVries had 29 assists and eight digs. Baleigh Nachtigal and Hadley Hanson had seven and six digs, respectively.

Lyman stats were not reported.


Burke 3, Boyd County (Neb.) 0

SPENCER, NEB. — Class B No. 4 Burke swept Boyd County, Neb. in straight sets for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-13, and 25-18.

Burke’s Adisyn Indahl tallied 13 kills and 12 digs, while Kailee Frank finished with 12 kills and three aces. Emmie Hausmann had nine kills, while Elle Johnson had 21 digs. Paige Bull had three blocks, while Elly Witt and Ava Sargent added 19 and 10 assists, respectively. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Elk Point-Jefferson 0

ELK POINT — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian swept Elk Point-Jefferson in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 28-26, and 25-14.

SFC’s Peyton Poppema led with 14 kills and 11 digs, while Sidney Oostra tallied 13 kills. Taylor Byl finished with 11 kills and three blocks, while Lavin Maddox had 19 digs. Addisen Barber added 41 assists and two blocks.

EPJ’s Josie Curry tallied six kills, while Bentlee Kollbaum had five kills. Sophia Giorgio had eight digs and 15 assists, while Ashley Brewer recorded six blocks. Alyssa Chytka and Danica Torrez added 29 and 15 assists, respectively.


Centerville 3, Irene-Wakonda 0 

CENTERVILLE — Centerville swept Irene-Wakonda in a high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22, and 25-16.

Centerville’s Rylie Tieman led with eight kills, while Lille Eide had seven kills. Bailey Hansen and Thea Gust each had five kills, while Gust also had three aces. Keira Austin added 18 assists.

Irene-Wakonda’s Madison Orr tallied nine kills and four blocks, while Zoey Anderson had seven kills and five digs. Emerson Flynn finished with 16 digs, 14 assists, and four kills, while Quinn McDonald had 14 digs. Jenna Sees and Hailey Orr tallied 10 and nine digs, respectively.


Baltic 3, Viborg-Hurley 1

VIBORG — Baltic topped Viborg-Hurley in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-15.

Baltic’s Emma Van Regenmorter posted 13 kills, four blocks and two digs. Peyten Krull recorded 13 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Baily Teveldal added two aces, eight kills and 17 digs. Madison Kennedy logged 27 digs, while Daynica Witzel posted 23 digs and six kills. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Coral Mason posted 17 kills and 24 digs. Estelle Lee logged six kills and eight digs. Addison Huth posted five kills and four digs. Charley Nelson added 21 digs. Mataya Vannorsdel finished with 25 assists and 13 digs.  


Chester Area 3, Beresford 0

CHESTER — Chester Area swept Beresford in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-12 and 25-10.

Chester Area’s Jacy Wolf finished with 12 kills and 15 assists. Lily VanHal added 11 kills and 18 digs. Emery Larson posted 19 digs, while Katelynn Huntimer added 12 digs. Emilee Bleeker recorded two blocks. 

Beresford’s Rachel Zanter finished with seven kills, while Autumn Naminga and McKayla Roelke had five kills apiece. Larissa Tiedmann had nine assists. Maddie Erickson finished with four kills and two blocks. 


Colman-Egan 3, Castlewood 2 

COLMAN — Colman-Egan outlasted Castlewood in five sets for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 23-25, 14-25, 25-18, and 15-11.

CE’s Daniela Lee finished with 11 kills and 23 digs, while Kadance Landis had 10 kills. Berkley Groos had nine kills and 22 digs, while Brynlee Landis also had nine kills. Presley Luce had 15 digs, while Lanie Mousel and Ava Mousel had 25 and 20 assists, respectively.

Castlewood’s Presley Knecht led with 16 kills, while Emerson Carter had 12 kills. Madeline Horn recorded 10 kills and 18 digs, while Mackenzie Everson had six kills and 28 digs. Cassidy Kirwan tallied six kills and nine digs, while Gracie Haug had 42 assists and 32 digs. Lyndsey Archer and Kailyn Larson had 18 and 13 digs, respectively.


Deubrook Area 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0 

RAMONA — Deubrook Area swept Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in straight sets for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-23, 25-17, and 25-20.

Deubrook Area’s Skyla Petersen and Zoey Molengraaf each had eight kills and two blocks. Miranda Moravetz tallied eight kills and 19 digs, while Taylor Ekern had 11 digs and two aces. Delaney Pedersen had 15 digs, while Brooke Koppatschek and Ellie Koenig added 15 and 13 assists, respectively.

ORR’s Julia Trygstad led with 10 kills, while Bailey Hyland had eight kills and 13 digs. Alivia Bickett talleid 15 digs and three aces, while Paige Hanson recorded 14 assists and two blocks. Brooklyn Hageman added 11 assists.


Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Arlington 0

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton swept Arlington in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-10, and 25-14.

ELB’s Rachael Krog led with 16 kills and 21 digs, while Kailyn Drietz tallied eight kills and seven digs. Andrea Renkly had six kills and nine digs, while Tevan Erickson had 20 assists and 18 digs. Kayla Goertz added eight digs.

Arlington’s Natalie Burns had nine kills, while Morgan Larsen had six kills. Tanaya Weiss tallied 15 assists and 11 digs, while Harley Johnson added 10 digs.


Estelline/Hendricks 3, De Smet 0 

ESTELLINE — Estelline/Hendricks swept De Smet for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-20, and 25-10.

Estelline/Hendricks was led by Kenzy Beare with 17 kills, three blocks, and two aces, while Brooke Johnson had four kills, three assists, and three aces. Heidi Nicola recorded three kills and 18 digs, while Julie Williams tallied 22 digs and two aces. Sadie Johnson added 24 assists, 19 digs, and three aces.

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers led with 10 kills and six blocks, while Jada Burke tallied four kills, four blocks, and one ace. Emma Albrecht recorded five assists and two digs, while Cori Birkel had five blocks. Ella Poppinga added three digs.


Langford Area 3, Waubay/Summit 1 

WAUBAY — Langford Area picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Waubay/Summit on Thursday. The set scores were 14-25, 25-19, 26-24, 19-25, and 15-7.

Waubay/Summit’s Kylee Marx led with 13 kills and eight aces, while Liza Purdy had seven kills. Ava Breske added six kills.

Langford Area stats were not reported.

 

Hamlin 3, Redfield 0 

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Redfield in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-12, and 25-18.

Hamlin’s Ally Abraham led with 14 kills and three blocks, while Gracelyn Leiseth and Emily Everson had eight kills each. Kami Wadsworth finished with 35 assists, 10 digs, and five blocks, while Marissa Bawdon had 11 digs and four aces. Jayci Trowbridge added three aces.

Redfield’s Camryn Rohlfs tallied 13 assists and one ace, while Gracie Fast had eight kills. Katie Rozell had two aces, while Chloe Zens and Ashlyn Clausen had 10 and nine digs, respectively.


James Valley Christian 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 2

FORESTBURG — James Valley Christian outlasted Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in five sets for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 11-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, and 15-8.

JVC was led by Regan Rink with 16 kills and three aces, and two blocks, while Alexa Goertz had nine kills. Natalie Hamilton had five kills and two blocks, while Kaylie Robinson had 14 assists and two blocks. Colleen Wipf and Jacey Wipf had 34 and 32 digs. Ashlyn Cronin added 24 digs, while Daril Frandsen added 20 assists.

SCW’s Kenna Ochsner finished with 15 kills and 30 digs. Kailynn Eggleston added 12 kills and four aces. Ellie Evans logged eight kills, while Kenlie Fridley finished with 16 assists and two aces. Bailey Feistner finished with 11 assists, while Bella Fry added 29 digs.
