RAPID CITY — White River swept Lakota Tech in the Lakota Nation Invitational volleyball championship match at The Monument. The set scores were 25-17 and 25-17. 

Wolsey-Wessington wins 281 Conference tournament

HURON — Wolsey-Wessington won the 281 Conference tournament championship on Saturday. The Warbirds beat Hitchcock-Tulare in the title match, 25-17 and 25-22.

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelyn Schroeder finished with one ace, eight kills and 10 digs. Ella Johnson added five kills, while Isabel Gilbert had three kills and one assist. Lila Johnson recorded 17 assists and Cambree Hoekman posted 14 digs. Gracyn Bixler finished with two aces. 

Wolsey-Wessington stats were not reported. 

Brandon Valley 3, Pierre 2

PIERRE — Brandon Valley edged Pierre in a five-set high school volleyball match on Saturday. The set scores were 19-25, 19-25, 29-27, 25-14 and 15-7.

Brandon Valley’s Jersie Melcher finished with 19 kills, while Jayaunna Stroh posted 12 kills. Sydney Benson posted 16 digs and three aces. Alli Gawarecki added 15 digs. Kennedi Boomsma logged five blocks, while Riya Sheley logged 46 assists and four aces. Abby Gruber and Ashley Ertelt had four blocks apiece.
