Ethan 3, Menno 1

ETHAN — Ethan rattled off three straight set wins to pick up a Thursday high school volleyball win over Menno. The set scores were 18-25, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-23.


Warner 3, Northwestern 1

MELLETTE — Class B No. 1 Warner topped Class B No. 2 Northwestern in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 28-30, 25-16 and 25-17.

Warner’s Lauren Marcuson finished with 17 kills, 15 digs and three aces. Kyra Marcuson added 17 kills, while Kami Anderson had nine kills. Ava Nilsson finished with 46 assists, nine digs, two aces and two block assists. Courtney Bjorgaard had 29 digs. Libby Scepaniak finished with two aces and Kyleigh Schopp had two block assists. 

Northwestern’s Ella Haven finished with 17 kills, 18 digs, one ace and one solo block. Ashley Haven added seven kills and three assists. Brooklinn Halvorson chipped in with four kills and 24 assists. Ella Boekelheide had 12 digs. 


Wagner 3, Gregory 0

GREGORY — Class A No. 3 Wagner swept Gregory in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-10, 25-14 and 25-15.

Wagner’s Emma Yost finished with 15 kills and seven digs. Shona Kocer logged eight kills and two blocks. Macy Koupal dished out 27 assists and had six digs. Kya Kjeldgaard posted three blocks, while Shalayne Nagel added seven digs. 

Gregory stats were not reported. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, West Central 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian swept West Central in high school volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores 25-10, 25-16, and 25-18.

SFC’s Ellie Lems recorded 10 kills and six digs, while Taylor Byl and Peyton Poppema had seven kills. Poppema also had five digs. Sidney Oostra tallied six kills and three digs, while Lavin Maddox had 11 digs. Addisen Barber added 31 assists.

West Central was led by Aubree Miller with six kills and four assists, while Jocelyn Nilson led with 13 digs. Landry Heath had 12 digs, while Ellie Lienhard tallied five assists.


Platte-Geddes 3, Bon Homme 0

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes swept Bon Homme in straight sets for a high school volleyball win. The set scores were 25-17, 25-12, and 25-19.

Platte-Geddes was led by Cadence Van Zee with 14 kills and six digs, while Karly VanDerWerff recorded 12 kills. Regan Hoffman tallied 10 kills and eight digs, while Hadley Hanson had 15 digs. Avery DeVries added 32 assists, seven aces, and five digs.

Bon Homme’s Taycee Ranek logged seven kills and five digs, while Erin Heusinkveld tallied six digs, five kills, and two blocks. Jenna Duffek added five digs and three kills.


Canton 3, Elk Point-Jefferson 2 

ELK POINT — Class A No. 5 Canton outlasted Elk Point-Jefferson for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-11, 25-18, 22-25, 15-5.

EPJ’s Bentlee Kollbaum had 11 kills and 19 digs, while Danica Torrez recorded eight kills and 12 digs. Josie Curry tallied eight kills, while Kaitlyn VanRoekel had 18 digs and 36 assists. Sophia Giorgio had 10 digs, while Natalie Heuertz added nine kills and four blocks.

Canton stats were not reported.


Redfield 3, Sisseton 1

SISSETON — Redfield picked up a high school volleyball win over Sisseton on Thursday. The set scores 25-19, 25-12, 21-25, and 25-12.

Redfield’s Gracie Fast led with 13 kills, while Katie Rozell tallied 10 kills and four blocks. Mallory Smith led with three aces, while Chloe Zens recorded 20 digs. Camryn Rohlfs added 31 assists.

Sisseton stats were not reported.


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Leola/Frederick Area 1

LEOLA — Mobridge-Pollock picked up a four-set high school volleyball win over Leola/Frederick Area on Thursday. The set scores were 18-25, 26-24, 25-13 and 25-16.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson logged 16 kills, five aces and three solo blocks. Emma Keller finished with 14 kills and 22 assists. Aubrey Ziegler posted seven kills and two block assists. Emily Hatzenbuehler logged six kills, while Gretchen Olson added seven digs. Reagan Weisbeck recorded 33 digs and Katy Kemnitz posted 16 assists. 

Leola/Frederick Area stats were not reported. 

 

Hamlin 3, Milbank 2

MILBANK — Hamlin outlasted Milbank in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-21, 19-25, 15-25, 27-25 and 15-11.

Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth finished with 20 kills and two block assists. Emily Everson and Addison Neuendorf had 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Neuendorf added 20 digs. Kami Wadsworth posted 46 assists and 15 digs. Gracie Opdahl added 22 digs. Jayci Trowbridge and Marissa Bawdon had four and two aces, respectively. 

Milbank’s Rachel Schulte finished with 15 kills, 19 digs and three aces. Riley Overby added 11 kills, while Claire Snaza finished with nine kills. Casside Seesz recorded seven kills and three aces. Addisyn Krause logged 25 assists, while Averie Engebretson posted 24 assists and 22 digs. Hallie Schulte logged 25 digs.


Alcester-Hudson 3, Avon 2

AVON — Alcester-Hudson edged Avon in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 27-25, 25-19, 24-26 and 15-5.

Alcester-Hudson’s Emma Moller finished with13 kills, while Alexis Gray and Elly Doering had 11 kills apiece. Hannah Ahart had 20 digs, while Moller and Ella Serck had 10 digs apiece. Serck finished with 35 assists. 

Avon’s Courtney Sees finished with 17 kills, 27 digs and three aces. Lila Vanderlei added 20 digs and 11 kills. McKenna Kocmich had 32 assists, two blocks and two aces.


James Valley Christian 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

CORSICA — James Valley Christian swept Corsica-Stickney in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-23, 25-17 and 25-21.

JVC’s Alexa Goertz recorded 10 kills, while Kaylie Robinson added six kills and 11 assists. Regan Rink logged seven kills, three aces, two blocks and two assists. Lily Hofer logged four kills and two aces. Darli Frandsen logged seven assists, while Colleen Wipf finished with 14 digs. Ashtyn Cronin added six digs. Cora Hofer had two blocks. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Payton DeLange finished with four kills and five digs. Jacey Kemp added three kills and five digs. Sophie DeLange finished with three kills and three digs. Ashlyn Lefers logged three kills and seven digs. Sutten Eide posted 14 assists, seven digs and four aces. Cali Vanden Hoek finished with five digs, while Cassidy Woerner added four digs. 


Scotland 3, Freeman Academy/Marion 0

MARION — Scotland swept Freeman Academy/Marion for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores 25-10, 25-14, and 25-11.

Scotland’s Martina DeBoer and Trinity Bietz tallied six kills each, while DeBoer added five blocks and Bietz added six aces. Grace Babb recorded five kills, six digs, and three aces, while Bailey Vitek tallied seven digs. Claire Janish had 10 assists and four digs, while Kalley Vitek added six assists and five digs.

FAM’s Emma McConniel led with nine digs, while Alexa Gortmaker tallied four digs and two kills. Kallie Johnson had three kills, while Isabelle McConniel added five assists.


Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

MILLER — Ipswich swept Sunshine Bible Academy in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-7 and 25-9.

Ipswich’s Gracie Lange finished with 12 kills and four aces. Baylee Kulesa and Marley Guthmiller finished with five kills apiece. Quincy Olivier added 23 assists, while Guthmiller had a block. Madison Geditz and Kulesa finished with seven and three digs, respectively. 

SBA’s Abby Hinman and Sadie Konechne finished with two kills apiece. Betra Amare and Konechne logged an ace apiece. Lydia Lo had two assists. 


Deuel 3, Britton-Hecla 0

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel swept Britton-Hecla in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.

Deuel’s Harley Hennings finished with nine kills and five digs. Gracie Fieber added seven assists and one ace. Josie Andersen recorded two aces and nine assists. Annika Kriz had six digs, while Emma Sattler and McKenna Olson recorded two blocks apiece. 

Britton-Hecla’s Sterling Brassfield and Alyssa James had three kills apiece. Jayden Bender had seven assists, while Alyssa James logged two aces. Katee Freeman added 13 digs, while Kaegan Fredrickson had six digs. 


Madison 3, Lennox 1

MADISON — Madison defeated Lennox in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 26-28, 25-22 and 25-21.

Madison’s Audrey Nelson finished with 19 kills, 13 digs and four blocks. Amanda Vacanti added 14 kills and two aces. Maycee Theede finished with 21 digs, while Karley Theeded had 17 assists. Cadence Zens logged one ace and Karley Lurz had a block. 

Lennox’s Carli Kuyper finished with 10 kills, while Addison Martz finished with seven kills. Dani Highum and Lillian Meyer each had an ace. Ashlee Sweeter and Kate Jackson had seven and six digs, respectively. Jackson added 14 assists and Ella Grengs finished with 10 assists. 


Dell Rapids 3, Tea Area 0

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids swept Tea Area for a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 25-7, 25-21, and 25-15.

Dell Rapids was led by Kylee Fiddelke with eight kills and five aces, while Madelynn Henry tallied eight kills and four aces. Sophi Randall recorded 21 assists and eight digs, while Alaina Wolff added 11 digs.

Tea Area’s Lizzy Spah had seven digs, three kills, and three aces, while Jillian Huenink tallied nine digs and eight assists. Mara Grant added three kills and two blocks.


O’Neill St. Mary’s (Neb.) 3, Burke 2

O’NEILL, Neb. — O’Neill St. Mary’s outlasted Class B No. 5 Burke in a high school volleyball win on Thursday. The set scores were 26-24, 15-25, 23-25, 29-27, and 15-13.

Burke was led by Adisyn Indahl with 21 kills, 23 digs, seven assists, and three aces, while Kailee Frank tallied 16 kills, 12 digs, four aces, and two blocks. Elle Johnson recorded 31 digs, while Paige Bull had six blocks. Ava Sargent and Elly Witt added 19 and 17 assists, respectively.
