Lyman 3, New Underwood 0 

PRESHO — Lyman swept New Underwood in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-4 and 25-11. 


Warner 3, Northwestern 0

MELLETTE — Class B No. 2 Warner swept Class B No. 5 Northwestern in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-22 and 25-13. 

Warner’s Jaycee Jung and Kyleigh Schopp posted 12 kills apiece. Miah Leidholt added nine kills. Libby Scepaniak had 21 assists, while Reagan Wood had 15 assists. Makenna Leidholt and Jordyn Jensen had two aces apiece. Jensen had 18 digs and Leidholt added 13 digs. 

For Northwestern, Anna Brumfield logged 12 kills. Ashley Haven had two aces, 10 kills and seven digs. Breelyn Satter had four kills. Ella Boekelheide had 26 assists and two aces. Tara Blachford had 11 digs. 


Avon 3, Alcester-Hudson 0

AVON — Avon earned a convincing win over Alcester-Hudson in Thursday night volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19. 

The Pirates were led by Lila Vanderlei who finished with 15 kills and 10 digs. Brielle Voigt had 21 assists and four aces. Rilyn Thury finished with five kills and 14 digs. 

Emma Solberg led Alcester-Hudson with five aces, seven kills and three blocks. Jaeley Christensen had a team leading eight assists and Heidi Swanson had three aces and three blocks. 


Burke 3, St. Mary’s (Neb.) 0 

O’NEILL, Neb. — Class B No. 4 Burke swept St. Mary’s (Neb.) in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-15, 24-26 and 25-20.

Burke’s Kailee Frank finished with 21 kills, while Emmie Hausmann added 14 kills. Paige Bull and Addi Hood had six kills apiece. Emmy Spencer and Ava Sargent had three and two aces, respectively. Kyrie Matucha and Frank had 12 kills apiece. Bull had four blocks and Hood added two blocks. Spencer had 24 assists and Sargent added 15 assists. 


Corsica-Stickney 3, James Valley Christian 0

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney swept James Valley Christian in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-6 and 25-17.

Corsica-Stickney’s Braylee Bordewyk finished with 14 assists, 10 aces, seven kills and two blocks. Sophie DeLange added seven kills and six assists. Paige Timmermans had four kills. Cali VandenHoek and Hadynn Johnson had seven and four digs, respectively. 

For JVC, Ella Anderson had two kills and one ace. Addison Kleinsasser logged one kill. 


Harrisburg 3, Western Christian (Iowa) 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Harrisburg rolled to a straight sets sweep of Western Christian, Iowa, in volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-13, 25-18 and 25-15. 

Leading the Tigers was Gabi Zachariasen who had 12 kills, 11 digs and three aces. Kya Keegan added nine kills and Bergen Stiff contributed eight kills and five blocks. Josalyn Samuels dished out 36 assists and Maggie Meister led with 21 digs. 

Sydney Feenstra led Western Christian with three aces and 12 digs.


Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Canton 0

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson defeated Canton in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 27-25, 25-21, and 25-13.

Bentlee Kollbaum had 21 kills and 10 digs, Ashley Brewer tallied 10 kills and four digs, Courtney Brewer added four kills, 11 digs and 38 assists, while Skyler Stein tallied 13 digs in the win.

Canton’s Jenna Vande Weerd tallied 12 kills and four blocks, Macy Plucker had seven kills and 11 digs, Carmyn Peterson tallied 11 digs, while Lexie Kapperman had 22 assists in the loss.


Sioux Falls Christian 3, West Central 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian defeated West Central in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-9, and 25-9.

SFC’s Jayla Overman and Brietta Tims each tallied eight kills, adding a combined four blocks. Addisen Barber tallied five kills, four digs, and 16 assists, while Chloe Bosma added 10 digs and four assists as well. Meredith Nelson recorded five kills, five digs, and nine assists for the Chargers in the victory.

WC’s Dawson Garry led the offense with five kills, Cambree Ideker had 10 digs and five assists, while Garry and Vivien Cuka each tallied two blocks in the loss.

 

Gregory 3, Wagner 2 

GREGORY — Gregory outlasted Wagner in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-23, 25-21, 12-25, 23-25 and 15-7.

Gregory’s Regan Graesser logged 19 kills, 14 digs and eight assists. Dani VanDerWerff had 12 kills, 14 digs and three blocks. Ella Sperl had four kills, 13 digs and nine assists. Aubree Miller added eight kills. Haylie Vaughn finished with 24 digs.

For Wagner, Hannah Holzbauer finished with 16 kills, 13 digs and nine aces. Ravyn Medricky had 11 kills, 17 digs and three blocks. Braxton Nedved added seven kills, 24 assists and 11 digs. Libby Kotab posted 20 digs.

Hamlin 3, Milbank 0 

MILBANK — Hamlin improved to 6-0 on the season with a straight sets sweep of Milbank in volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-23 and 25-18. 

Leading Hamlin was Addie Neuendorf who had two aces, 12 kills and 20 digs. Addie Steffensen piled up 12 kills and 23 digs while Issie Steffensen led the Chargers with 32 assists. Jo Steffensen finished with three aces and 15 digs. 

Sierra Wenzel led Madison with five kills and 17 digs. Ella Sandvig led with 19 digs while Claire Snaza led with seven kills. 


Britton/Hecla 3, Deuel 1

CLEAR LAKE — Britton/Hecla earned a four-set victory over Deuel during Thursday's volleyball action. The set scores were 21-25, 25-14, 25-22, and 25-9.

BH’s Heather Storbakken dished out 22 assists and four aces, Abby Lee tallied 11 kills and five blocks, Daynika Zuehlke had 17 digs and three aces, while Mckenna Heer added four kills and two aces in the win.

Deuel’s Roxanne Raml had six kills and a block, Kayden Russell tallied nine assists and 14 digs, while Ella Kerkvliet added 19 digs in the loss.


Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0 

MILLER — Ipswich picked up a straight sets win over Sunshine Bible Academy in volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-15. 

Leading Ipswich was Marley Guthmiller who finished with 15 kills and 25 digs. Reaghan Bowers added four assists and 36 digs while Josie Knunson had five aces and 13 assists. Kaylin Onken had six kills and Jaydin Stiles led with six aces. 

Dakota Boersma led Sunshine Bible Academy with three aces, a kill and a block. Soleil Mickelson had two kills and a block. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Wolsey-Wessington 0

TULARE — Class B No. 3 Hitchcock-Tulare earned a straight set victory over Wolsey-Wessington during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22, and 25-19.

Katelyn Schroeder tallied 19 kills and 11 digs, Lila Johnson dished out 22 assists, Gracyn Bixler tallied 15 assists, while Cambree Hoekman added 13 digs in the win.

WW’s Samara Clemente tallied 11 kills, Kendal Uttecht had 18 assists, while Shae Uttecht tallied 15 digs in the loss.

 

Mobridge-Pollock 3, Leola-Frederick Area 0 

LEOLA — Mobridge-Pollock swept Leola-Frederick Area in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson finished with one block, nine kills and three aces. Raelyn Aberle added seven kills and four aces. Tegan Konold posted five kills and three aces. Grace Overland had four kills. Sophia Overland had 42 assists. Jacy Netterville logged 15 digs and Ellie Kemnitz posted 22 assists. 

Leola-Frederick Area stats were not reported. 


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3, Kimball/White Lake 2

WHITE LAKE — Tripp-Delmont/Armour edged Kimball/White Lake in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 21-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-22 and 16-14.

TDA’s Mia Reiner posted 23 kills and 21 digs. She also had two aces and one block. Kinley Spaans logged 32 assists and 21 digs. Sara Bertram and Lily Blaine had five kills apiece. Bertram and Serenity Goehring had 14 digs apiece. Blaine added three blocks.

For KWL, Lindy Kiehn had 18 kills and 18 digs. Rylee McCord had 14 kills and 30 digs. Summer Skluzak posted 21 digs. Sienna Gillen added 28 digs and three aces. Mariah Gosmire added six kills, two aces, 37 assists and 13 digs. Kaitlyn Priebe posted eight kills. Kyza Johnson and Elena Brennan had five blocks and three blocks, respectively. 


Watertown 3, Brandon Valley 0

WATERTOWN — Watertown swept Brandon Valley in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-22 and 25-21. 

Brandon Valley’s Abby Gruber posted 12 kills, while Jayaunna Stroh posted eight kills. Stroh logged 12 digs. Mya VanWesten and Jayna James had seven digs apiece. Kennedi Boomsma (three), Riya Sheley (three) and Ashley Ertelt (two) led the team in blocks. Sheley had 15 assists. Ertelt added two aces. 

Brandon Valley stats were not reported.
