Sioux Falls Lincoln boys claim eighth consecutive state tennis championship

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Lincoln captured its eight consecutive state tennis title at Friday’s Class AA tournament. 

The Patriots finished with 539.5 points to earn their eight championship since 2014. Sioux Falls Washington (522) and Sioux Falls O’Gorman (402) finished second and third, respectively. 

In singles action, Gage Gohl (Flight No. 1), Rocky McKenzie (Flight No. 2) and River McKenzie (Flight No. 4) won singles championships for the Patriots. 

Sioux Falls Washington’s Noah Morgans (Flight No. 3), Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Will Koziara (Flight No. 5) and Sioux Falls Washington’s Harold Mayer (Flight No. 6) also won singles championships. 

In doubles action, Gage Gohl and River McKenzie (Flight No. 1) added another state title for the Patriots. 

Sioux Falls Washington’s Noah Morgans and Jacob Morgans won Flight No. 2, while teammates Chase Rima and Harold Mayer were Flight No. 3 champions.
