SPEARFISH — Sioux Falls Lincoln holds the Day 1 lead at the East/West Invitational on Monday.

The Patriots shot a +9 over par at the Spearfish Country Club, holding a one-shot lead over Sioux Falls O’Gorman (+10). Harrisburg (+26), Spearfish (+29) and Sioux Falls Washington (+30) round out the top-five teams. 

Individually, Lincoln’s Brody Herrmann fired a 1-under 71, including a 33 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine. Herrmann carded three birdies on the day.

Lincoln’s Max Krenik and O’Gorman’s Jayden Antonen both shot 72s and are tied for second. Harrisburg’s Riley Christensen, O’Gorman’s Henry Schmitz and Yankton’s Elijah Larson are tied for fourth with 74s.
