SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln quarterback Brody Schafer has verbally committed to the South Dakota State University football team. Schafer announced his intentions to be a Jackrabbit on social media on Friday. 

A 6-foot, 180-pound junior, Schafer powered the Patriots to a 10-2 season, and a Class 11AAA runner-up finish. This season, Schafer completed 186-of-300 passes for 3,023 yards and 39 touchdowns. He added 143 carries for 1,288 yards on the ground and 18 more scores. He averaged 359.3 yards of total offense and nearly five touchdowns per game. 

Schafer has passed for 4,999 yards and 64 touchdowns to go along with 2,103 yards rushing and 31 more scores throughout his high school career. 

“Brody is the best QB in the state,” Lincoln coach Jared Fredenburg said. “He is a great all around athlete who is a great leader on the team and in our school.”
