RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Post 15 East and Rapid City Post 22 both dropped first round matchups at the American Legion Central Plains Tournament on Wednesday.

Sioux Falls Post 15 East fell to West Fargo, North Dakota, by a score of 10-8. Post 15 East was led on the mound by Tate Schafer, who allowed four hits and four earned runs, along with four strikeouts in his 4 â…“ inning start.

Jack Smith led Post 15 East with two hits in five at bats. Cael Swanson, Myles Rees, Jackson Boe, Ethan Bruns, Andrew Glovich, Sawyer Tolk, and Dylan Rippentrop each had one hit. Smith, Swanson, Rees, Boe, Glovich, and Tolk each drove in one run.

Sioux Falls Post 15 East will play Moville, Iowa, on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. MT in the losers’ bracket.

Rapid CIty Post 22 fell to St. Michael, Minn. on Wednesday by a score of 11-1. Palmer Jacobs led Post 22 on the hill, pitching four innings and allowing six runs on six hits, while striking out four.

Wyatt Anderson, Harrison Good, and Jacob Solano led Post 22 with one hit apiece. Rapid City Post 22 will play Mankato, Minn. in the loser’s bracket at 12:00 p.m. MT.
