The Sioux Falls baseball team advanced to the Little League World Series after defeating Missouri (6-1) in the Midwest Region Championship on Friday.

The Sioux Falls baseball team advanced to the Little League World Series after defeating Missouri (6-1) in the Midwest Region Championship on Friday.

Sioux Falls dominated their first two games of the regional, defeating North Dakota (11-1) and Minnesota (12-0), before falling to Missouri in the semifinal (6-4). It defeated Iowa (3-0) to make it back to the Region Championship.

It's the first trip back to the Little League World Series for South Dakota since its 2021 semifinal run.

Sioux Falls also went 6-1 in the state tournament to take the state title as well.

The team players include Bode Biteler, Sully Krueger, Devin Cargin, Kinnick Noble, Luke Fenton, Tait Ready, Kennyel Flores, Griff Sommer, Ryan Henry, August Vortherms, Manny Kortan and Sam Wurth. 

The Little League World Series is Aug 14-25 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

South Dakota opens up its Little League World Series tournament against the Southeast Region champion on Wednesday.
