Six South Dakota football players signed with South Dakota State University during Wednesday’s early National Signing Day.

The six individuals include Brookings’ Bergan Tetzlaff, Sioux Falls Washington’s Jhace Woods, De Smet’s Grant Wilkinson, Sioux Valley’s Mitchell Guthmiller, Viborg-Hurley’s Brady Schroedermeier and Madison’s Shane Veenhof.

Bergan Tetzlaff, Brookings (6-5, 235)

Bergan Tetzlaff will stay home to play at the next level. The Brookings native was a force for the Bobcats, earning all-state honors two years in a row, including 2023 all-state honorable mention honors as well. Tetzlaff ran for 338 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding 60 catches for 1,160 yards and 15 more touchdowns in his high school career. Tetzlaff will play defensive end at SDSU.

Jhace Woods, Sioux Falls Washington (6-2, 195)

Jhace Woods looks to continue the trend of Sioux Falls metro area receivers headed to the Yellow and Blue. Woods was an all-state wideout in his senior year, adding back-to-back all-conference selections as well. Woods hauled in 22 receptions for 458 yards and eight touchdowns this season.

Grant Wilkinson, De Smet (6-8, 320)

Grant Wilkinson will follow in his brother's footsteps to Brookings. Wilkinson, the younger brother of SDSU men’s basketball player Damon, will play on the offensive line at SDSU after a decorated high school career. Wilkinson is a two-time all-state offensive lineman, earning honorable mention honors as a sophomore. Wilkinson is also a three-time all-conference player helping the Bulldogs rush for nearly 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns this season.

Mitchell Guthmiller, Sioux Valley (6-4, 200)

Mitchell Guthmiller won’t have to travel far to play college football. The Sioux Valley standout athlete heads to Brookings after a standout high school career, including earning all-state linebacker honors this year. Guthmiller was a do-it-all back for the Cossacks this season, collecting 1,454 rushing yards, 587 receiving yards, 21 career touchdowns with 181 tackles defensively.

Brady Schroedermeier, Viborg-Hurley (6-3, 195)

Brady Schroedermeier adds to the Jackrabbit pipeline from Viborg-Hurley. The Cougars’ standout athlete capped off his senior season with 71 tackles (10 tackles for loss), three sacks, five interceptions, with two pick-sixes this year. The all-state linebacker ends his high school career with 185 total tackles, nine interceptions, seven sacks and three pick-sixes. Schroedermeier’s cousin and VH alum Chase Mason is the starting quarterback for the Jackrabbits this season. Schroedermeier will play linebacker/safety for the Jacks.

Shane Veenhof, Madison (6-0, 170)

Shane Veenhof was a dynamic playmaker for Madison. As a senior, Veenhof racked up 43 receptions for 749 yards and 14 touchdowns, totaling over 1,074 yards in his career. The 2025 all-state wideout  and four-year starter hauled in 164 receptions for 2,457 yards and 29 touchdowns in his career. Veenhof will play safety at South Dakota State.
