South Dakotans set to compete at Nike Outdoor Nationals in Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. — The 2025 Nike Outdoor Nationals are June 19-22 at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. 

The event annually draws hundreds of competitors across the country, and a host of South Dakotans will again be in the competition. 

Here’s a rundown of South Dakotans in this year’s Nike Outdoor Nationals:

  • The Gregory quartet of Max Cook, Luke Stukel, Pierce Stukel and Finn Adams are competing in the boys emerging elite 1,600-meter sprint medley relay.  
  • Yankton’s Rozlyn Adamson will compete in the middle school girls 100 and 200-meter dash events. 
  • Volga’s Maci Licht will be competing in the middle school girls 400-meter and 800-meter events. 
  • Yankton’s Connor Slaba will compete in the emerging elite boys 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. 
  • Jefferson’s Alex McCullough will compete in the freshman girls one-mile run and the girls Garmin emerging elite runs. 
  • Brandon’s Mikah Peters is competing in the boys garmin 3,000-meter run and garmin emerging elite one-mile runs. 
  • Rapid City’s Miles Brekhus is competing in the boys garmin emerging elite 800-meter run and garmin emerging elite one-mile runs. 
  • Sioux Falls’ Ellie Maddox is running in the girls garmin championship one-mile run and the girls garmin championship 3,000-meter runs. 
  • Sioux Falls’ Paul Hoekman is competing in the boys shot put and discus throws. 
  • Sioux Falls’ Dawson Holthe is running in the boys emerging elite 110-meter hurdles. 
  • Pierre’s Charlee Williams-Smith is competing in the girls 400-meter dash. 
  • Harrisburg’s Griffin Smith is running in the boys garmin emerging elite 800-meter run. 
  • Sioux Falls’ Cole Reilly is competing in the boys garmin emerging elite one-mile run. 
  • Harrisburg’s Daniel O’Connor is participating in the boys emerging elite long jump. 
  • Rapid City’s Adam Stimes is competing in the boys emerging elite high jump. 
  • Aberdeen’s Taryn Hermansen is competing in the girls shot put. 
  • Piedmont’s Levi Brant is participating in the boys javelin throw.
