Standing Rock powers past Little Wound for All-Nations Football Conference victory

Standing Rock, North Dakota’s Leondre Twinn had his imprint all over a 31-8 win over Little Wound on Sept. 16. 

Quinn had a 1-yard touchdown run, a 35-yard touchdown run, and a 38-yard touchdown reception from Chance Eagle as the Warriors (2-0 remained undefeated on the season. Ryan Weddell added two more rushing scores for Standing Rock.


Todd County also remains undefeated in Class A after a 42-12 road win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa. Sophomore Chris Ellert continues to improve for Todd County at the quarterback position. Against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa, Ellert completed 9-of-13 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown pass to his favorite target, WakinyanSa Selwyn.

Another team that seems to be coming around are the Winnebago (Nebraska) Indians. After dropping their opener to Pine Ridge, Winnebago enjoyed an early bye week. This week, behind 121 yards rushing and four touchdowns from Antrell Harland, Winnebago beat St. Francis Indian, 65-6. 

The Class B division could see another title tilt between Tiospa Zina and Lower Brule. Tiospa Zina shut out Omaha Nation this week, 36-0 and Lower Brule defeated McLaughlin. 54-16.
