WATERTOWN — Watertown’s Ty Lenards paced the Arrows to their second consecutive Class AA boys state championship on Tuesday.

Lenards carded an 8-under 136, tying with Tea Area’s Derek Andersen after 36 holes. Lenards won the state title in a playoff at Cattail Crossing Golf Course. It’s the second straight season an Arrow has won the state championship, with Jake Olson winning it last season for Watertown. 

Lenards shot a 70 on Tuesday, including six birdies and a 35s on both nines. Andersen shot a 67 on Tuesday, including a 33 on the front nine. 

Harrisburg’s Charlie Swift (139) placed third, while Harrisburg’s Riley Christensen (141), O’Gorman’s Taten Mauney (141) and Pierre’s Nicklaus Bothun (141) tied for fourth place.

In the team race, Watertown shot a 569 and edged Pierre (570) for the state championship. Harrisburg (571), Brandon Valley (586) and O’Gorman (589) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Watertown is the first Class AA boys team to repeat since O’Gorman in 2010 and ‘11.

HARTFORD — Dakota Valley’s Logan Collette helped the Panthers win their first state boys championship since 2002 on Tuesday.

The Panthers carded a 615, finishing 14 shots ahead of Vermillion (629). Aberdeen Roncalli (661), St. Thomas More (664) and Groton Area (666) rounded out the top-five golfers. 

Playing at Central Valley Golf Course, Collette shot a 5-over 149 and edged Canton’s Carson Steffensen (150) for the state championship. Collette shot a 74 on Tuesday, recorded two birdies and 37s on both nines. Collette is the first Dakota Valley boy to win a state golf championship since Taylor White in 2009. 

After Steffensen, Milbank’s Jonathan DeBoer (151) and St. Thomas More’s Vincent Vanliere (151) tied for third place. Dakota Valley’s Matt DeBeer (153) rounded out the top-five finishers.
