SIOUX FALLS — Rapid City Stevens guard Taaliyah Porter is the school’s all-time girls basketball leading scorer. 

The senior guard broke the record with 43 seconds left in the second quarter against Sioux Falls O’Gorman on Feb. 7. The previous record was held by former WNBA player Becky Hammon (1,417). Porter scored 18 points and now has 1,432 career points.

Porter also passed Hammon on the Class AA all-time girls basketball scoring list. Porter is currently No. 12 on the Class AA all-time girls basketball scoring list. 

The 1,000-point scorers in Rapid City Stevens girls basketball history include: Porter, Hammon (1,417), Holly Bordewyk (1,237) and Margaret McCloud (1,176).
