Three South Dakotans record top marks at Monday's NJHFR

DES MOINES, Iowa — A trio of South Dakotans made their mark at Monday’s National Junior High Finals Rodeo. 

Ethan’s Hunter Hohn recorded a 67 in Monday night’s performance in bareback riding. Hohn’s 67 is currently No. 2 overall in the bareback riding standings. 

Buffalo’s Revyn Floyd had the best boys goat tying time in Monday’s morning performance, clocking in at 10.76 seconds. Floyd is currently No. 6 in the overall boys goat tying standings. 

Alpena’s Londyn Mikkelson had the best girls goat tying time in Monday’s morning performance, clocking in at 9.07 seconds. She’s currently No. 12 in the overall standings. 

In the Monday morning’s ribbon roping performance, a pair of South Dakota teams earned top-five finishes. Buffalo Gap’s Thor Fish and Tylee Fish had the fourth-best time (6.97). Orient’s Jacob Lammers and Sturgis’ Dallys Day had the fifth-best time (7.16).

Bareback riding: Hunter Hohn, Ethan, 67.

Boys goat tying: Revyn Floyd, Buffalo, 10.76; Avery Stevens, St. Lawrence, 15.14.

Chute dogging: Jack Saienga, Miller, 11.14; 

Girls breakaway roping: Charlee Ramsey, 4.24.

Girls goat tying: Londyn Mikkelson, Alpena, 9.07

Ribbon roping: Thor Fish, Buffalo Gap/Tylee Fish, Buffalo Gap, 6.97; Jacob Lammers, Orient/Dallys Day, Sturgis, 7.16.
