Wagner 3, Hill City 1

RAPID CITY -- Wagner topped Hill City and advanced to the semifinals of the Class A state volleyball tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 25-18, 25-21, 11-25 and 26-24. 

Wagner’s Emma Yost finished with 18 kills and 18 digs. Shona Kocer logged 11 kills and two blocks. Kya Kjeldgaard logged seven kills, six digs and two blocks. Avari Bruguier added seven kills and 13 digs. Madi Knebel added 20 digs, while Macy Koupal dished out 43 assists and had seven digs. Shalayne Nagel added six kills and 12 digs.

Hill City’s Marie Peckosh had 11 kills and 12 digs. Anna Dean added 19 digs, while Karsen Kirsch had seven kills and 13 digs. Abby Siemonsma added 24 assists. 

Wagner plays Sioux Falls Christian in the championship semifinals. Hill City plays Parkston in the consolation semifinals.

Sioux Falls Christian 3, Parkston 0

RAPID CITY -- Sioux Falls Christian swept Parkston in the Class A state volleyball tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 25-6, 25-14 and 25-18.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Katie VanEgdom posted 16 kills and 13 digs. Sydney Tims added 12 kills and five digs. Kylah vanDonkersgoed added 17 digs, while Addisen Barber posted 34 assists. Peyton Poppema added nine digs and four kills. Lavin Maddox finished with seven digs. 

Parkston’s Allison Ziebart had five kills and six digs. Brielle Bruening had four kills and five digs. Faith Oakley finished with 10 assists, while Mya Nuebel had six digs.

Garretson 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 2

RAPID CITY -- Garretson dropped the first two sets, but won the next three for a five-set victory over Elkton-Lake Benton in Class A volleyball action on Thursday. The set scores were 23-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-20 and 15-5.

Garretson’s Lily Ranschau recorded 18 kills and 17 digs. Logan Bly added 14 kills, seven digs and four blocks. Kaylin Koch added 11 kills. Jaelyn Benson had 41 assists, 19 digs and five kills. Lexi Gawarecki and Aliyah Leedy had 13 digs apiece. 

Elkton-Lake Benton’s Rachael Krog had 13 kills and 20 digs. Kailyn Drietz posted 12 kills and nine digs. Tevan Erickson logged 16 digs and 34 assists. Kylie Ramlo finished with 20 digs and Kayla Goertz added 10 digs.

Dakota Valley 3, Hamlin 0

RAPID CITY -- Dakota Valley topped Hamlin in straight sets in Thursday Class A volleyball action. The set scores were 29-27, 25-21 and 25-15.

Dakota Valley’s Jorja Van Den Hull had 13 kills, while Sophie Tuttle added 11 kills and 12 digs. Logan Miller finished with 39 assists and five digs. Sammi Archer posted 18 digs and five kills. 

Hamlin’s Ally Abraham finished with 12 kills and four digs. Kami Wadsworth finished with seven kills and nine digs. Grace Everson posted 12 assists and 11 digs. Alyssa West added 14 digs.
