VERMILLION — Vermillion High School’s Brooke Jensen has verbally committed to play college basketball at South Dakota. The senior announced her college intentions on social media on Oct. 7.

A 6-foot-1 forward, Jensen averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game last season for the Class A state champs. She also scored her 1,000th career point last season. Jensen was a Class A third-team all-state selection and an all-conference honoree a season ago.

Jensen is the daughter of Becky Flynn-Jensen, who scored a then-state record 3,268 career points for Wakonda and led the Warriorettes to three state titles (1988-90). She was an honorable mention USA Today All-American as a senior, when she averaged 29.6 points, 10.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists a game.

She later starred at Creighton University, where she was a four-year starter and two-time first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference player.
