It’s a star-studded Class AA girls basketball all-state team.

The all-state team, which was selected by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association, features five first-team honorees that will play NCAA Division I hoops.

The honor squad is headlined by first-team members Sioux Falls Washington’s Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda, Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Hannah Ronsiek, Brandon Valley’s Hilary Behrens, Rapid City Stevens’ Jayda McNabb, Sioux Falls O'Gorman's Mahli Abdouch and Rapid City Central’s Josie Hill.

Mwenentanda, a University of Texas signee, is the Class AA Player of the Year and is making her third consecutive all-state team. A 6-foot-2 forward, Mwenentanda is a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 34 recruit in the Class of 2022 by HoopGurlz. She earned a roster spot on the 2022 Jordan Brand Classic on April 15.

Mwenentanda averaged 18 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Washington, which captured the consolation championship at this year’s Class AA state tournament. An all-tourney selection, Mwenentanda recorded her 1,000th career point at this year’s state tournament.
