The Canton girls maintained the top spot in the Week 7 Dakota Grappler wrestling rankings. 

The C-Hawks garnered 146 points this week, ahead of Pierre (111) and Watertown (110). Harrisburg (98) and Brookings (75) round out the top-five ranked teams in this week’s poll. 

The big event of the week is Saturday’s Pierre Invitational. Aberdeen Central, Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon, Brandon Valley, Custer, Douglas, Faith, Groton Area, Harrisburg, Hill City, Hot Springs, Kingsbury County, Lead-Deadwood, McCook Central/Montrose, Pierre, Rapid City Central, Rapid City Stevens, Sioux Valley, Spearfish, Stanley County, Sully Buttes, Sturgis, Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda and Webster Area will all compete in Pierre. 

If the seeds and health hold, keep an eye on the (126) weight class in Pierre. Harrisburg’s Regina Stoeser has been ranked No. 1 all season (126) and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon’s Britney Rueb Has been No. 1 at (132). Rueb has dropped to 126 and if the pair meet on Saturday it would be a rematch of the state championship match from 2023, won by Stoeser.
