White River boys win 2nd straight Lakota Nation Invitational golf championship

BOX ELDER — The White River boys golf team captured its second straight Lakota Nation Invitational title on Monday. 

The Tigers carded a 261, finishing ahead of Winnebago, Nebraska (284) and Lakota Tech (292) at Prairie Ridge Golf Course. Todd County (303) and Red Cloud (314) rounded out the team scores. 

Individually, White River’s Bryson One Star fired an 80 to earn the individual medalist honors. The eighth-grader shot a 41 on the front nine and 39 on the back nine. 

One Star edged Winner’s Ryder Halligan (83) and White River’s Steven Becker (84) for the individual title. Lakota Tech’s Landon Little (85) and Rapid City Central’s Ben Ganje (89) rounded out the top-five finishers.
