VERMILLION — A Vermillion boys golf team featuring all underclassmen shot its way to the team title at Thursday’s Vermillion Invitational played at the Bluffs Golf Course. 

The Tanagers shot 21-over-par 309 to edge West Central (313) and Tea Area (315). Dakota Valley (316) and Madison (337) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Tea Area’s Harper Schnabel shot a two over-par 74 to claim medalist honors, ahead of Elk Point-Jefferson’s Carter Langle (75) and Vermillion’s Trey Hansen (75). Dakota Valley’s Cash Slater, West Central’s Anthony Lanham and Beresford's Dustin Mass all shot 76 to round out the top-six finishers.
