  Jan. 4 Boys Basketball Roundup - Noah Bearshield and Mitchell power Gregory to big win over Lyman

GREGORY — Noah Bearshield and Daniel Mitchell both reached double-figures as Gregory coasted to a win over Lyman in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Bearshield led all scorers with 19 points while Daniel Mitchell pumped in 16 points. 

Carter Jones and freshman Canyon Garnos each scored nine points to lead Lyman. 




Flandreau 57,  McCook Central/Montrose 27

FLANDREAU — A balanced scoring attack helped Flandreau earn a win over McCook Central/Montrose in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Paul Parsley led the way for Flandreau with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Luke Sheppard added 11 points and nine rebounds. 


Viborg/Hurley, Hanson 54

VIBORG —- Four players reached double-figures as Viborg-Hurley ran past Hanson in boys basketball action Thursday night.

Nick Hanson poured in 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Viborg-Hurley. Brady Schroedermeir added 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Bryson Morrison added 12 points and Owen Niederbaumer chipped in with 10 points. 



Mobridge-Pollock 62, Miller 58 (OT)

MOBRIDGE — Three players scored in double-figures as Mobridge-Pollock slipped by Miler in overtime to earn a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Unique White Twin poured in 21 points to lead the Tigers. Shane Henderson pumped in 16 points and grabbed eight offensive rebounds. Michael Wald chipped in with 12 points for MOPO.

Alex Schumacher paced Miller with 26 points, four rebounds, three steals and four assists. Isaac Hunter finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

 

Mitchell Christian 70, Menno 61

MENNO — Aiden Lieber’s huge game helped the Mitchell Christian boys run past Menno for a basketball win Friday.  

Lieber posted 44 points Thursday. Teammate Luke Mentele scored 12 points whileJoseph Tegethof and Syver Enga each had five points. 

Alex Schumacher led Miller with 26 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Isaac Hunter finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. 


Jones County 60, Philip 55

PHILIP —- Three layers scored in double-figures as Jones County earned a road win over Philip. The  Coyotes picked up that win without the services of senior Cooper Fedderson. 

Kaden Kinsely led the Coyotes with 16 points and five rebounds, Jett Nix added 10 points and 10 rebounds and Bryer Kinsely chipped in with 10 points.

Layton Terkildsen led Philip with 17 points while Lane Kuchenbecker hadn12 points. Jess Jones chipped in with 11 points for Philip.
