Todd County sweeps team titles at Lakota Nation Invitational track and field meet

MISSION — Todd County swept team titles at Thursday’s Lakota Nation Invitational track and field meet. 

The Falcon girls recorded 192 points, followed by Maphiya Luta (98) and White River (74). The Todd County boys tallied 203 points, finishing ahead of White River (96) and Little Wound (79.5).

In boys action, Todd County’s Chris Ellert won the 400-meter dash (:54.08). Ellert teamed up with Ken Clavano, Talan Iyotte and Ty Valandra to win the 400-meter relay (:45.63) and 800-meter relay (1:36.28). 

Todd County’s Jacob Allen, Patrick Iron Cloud, Carver Rahn and Bryson Edwards won the 1,600-meter relay (3:53.83). 

Todd County’s Allen won the 110-meter hurdles (:17.81) and Edwards won the 300-meter hurdles (:45.35). 

White River’s Elijah Haukaas captured the 800-meter run (2:09.09), 1,600-meter run (4:57.86) and 3,200-meter run (11:18.42). 

Crazy Horse’s Onzei Weaver was a double-winner in the 100-meter dash (:11.39) and 200-meter dash (:22.74). 

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Xavier Sanchez-Gonzalez, Demetrius Sanchez-Gonzalez, Jayden Marshall and Jayden Taken Alive won the 3,200-meter relay (8:57.17). Marshall, Taken Alive, Nehemiah Veaux and Nick Woods won the sprint medley relay in 3:50.26. 

Lakota Tech’s Jerrick Thompson won the shot put (38-0.5) and placed second in the discus (108-8). 

White River’s Vincent Parsells won the discus (112-5) and teammate Gunner Watson won the javelin (156-0). 

Mahpiya Luta’s Braylon Little won the high jump (5-4). 

Little Wound’s Cashus Hunter captured the long jump (20-1).

Pine Ridge’s Michael Janis won the triple jump (36-1.75). 

In girls action, Todd County’s Elizabeth Moore won the 1,600-meter run (6:10.92). 

Todd County’s Rayah Iron Horse, Tacea Jordan, Addisyn Larvie and Destiny Macias won the 800-meter relay (2:00.36). Aubree Young, Alexsis Red Bird, Trinity Bettelyoun and Angelika Iron Heart won the 3,200-meter relay (12:42.24). 

Todd County’s Kyleigh Crow Eagle, Dana Poignee, Adrienne Fast Horse and Iron Heart won the sprint medley relay in 5:14.77. 

Allie Two Elk won the shot put (29-6), the javelin (83-1) and placed second in the discus (84-8.5) for the Falcons. Lizee DuBray won the discus (85-3.5) for Todd County. 

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Isabella Ganje won the 100-meter dash (:13.65) and 200-meter dash (:28.77). Ganje teamed up with Nevaeh Iron Wing, Suni Bowman and Angel Benson to win the 400-meter relay (:56.56). 

Mahpiya Luta’s Dorthie Mesteth won the 400-meter dash (1:05.34), while teammate Sierra Black Bull won the 800-meter run (2:49.90), the 3,200-meter run (15:13.64) and placed second in the 1,600-meter run (6:28.89). 

Mahpiya Luta’s Ashlan Carlow-Blount was a double winner in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.11) and 300-meter hurdles (:47.74). Carlow-Blount, Mesteth, Josephine Haas and Tylianja Clifford won the 1,600-meter relay (4:33.07). Carlow-Blount added a second-place finish in the high jump (4-8). 

White River’s Maleena Brave cleared 5-2 to win the high jump. Taylor Krogman won the long jump (15-4) for White River. 

Pine Ridge’s Louise Pond won the triple jump (32-4.75).
