April 23 Softball Roundup - Sioux Falls Lincoln remains undefeated after shutting out Brandon Valley

Sioux Falls Lincoln 10, Brandon Valley 0

Sioux Falls Lincoln improved to 6-0 with a shutout of Brandon Valley in girls softball action Tuesday. 

Norah Christiansen drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Patriots at the plate. Christiansen had a double in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning. Paxton Dekkers also homered for the Patriots and pitcher Madison Evans picked up the win striking out 12 batters.

Peyton Amdahl, Keaton Jensen and Tenley Rude each collected a hit for Brandon Valley. Macy Lembcke took the loss for the Lynx. 


Beresford 12, Lennox 11

Keely Merrigan delivered five hits Tuesday as Beresford rallied to earn a tight win over Lennox in girls softball action.

Merrigan scored two runs and drove in a run while pitching 3 and ⅔ innings, giving up six hits and nine runs (zero earned). Trailing 9-3 the Watchdogs pushed across nine runs in the top of the sixth to take a 12-9 lead. Kaylee Iversen's three-run double fueled the nine run inning. 

Ahleeya Nicola led Lennox, going 3-for-4 and driving in three runs. Taylor Ragle added two hits for the Orioles.


Rapid City Stevens 21, Rapid City Central 2

Rapid City Stevens used a nine-run third inning and a 10-run fifth inning to pick up a win over Rapid City Central in girls softball action Tuesday.

Addie Hock led the Raiders scoring three runs, driving in three runs and walking twice. Nieva Collicheski scored two runs on three hits while also driving in three runs. Freshman Taylor Kokesh scored two runs on three hits with three rbi. 

Jaelyn Elias and Haylee Lange each scored a run for the Cobblers with Lange getting the only hit of the game for Central. 


Sioux Valley 13, Colman Egan 5

A big night from Abby Axtell helped Sioux Valley earn a win over Colman-Egan in girls softball action Tuesday.

Axtell drove in four runs on three hits including a two-run double. Freshman Kassidy Smith scored two runs and collected two rbi while Amelia Jacobsen and Morgan Lemme each collected two hits. Zaylee Lantgen earned the win for Sioux Valley giving up five hits and five runs through five innings. 

Kaitlyn Taggart led Colman-Egan with two hits and drove in a run. Addison Geigle and Maebe Groos each collected two hits with Groos driving in two runs. 


Sioux Valley 6, Colman-Egan 3

Sioux Valley improved to 8-1 on the season with a 6-3 win over Colman-Egan in double-header softball action Tuesday. 

Abby Axtell earned the win for the Cossacks giving up three runs and five hits over five innings. Amelia Jacobson, Riley Stirling, Cameron Uecker, Katie Richarz along with Savana Guthmiller and Summer Guthmiller each had hits for the Cossacks. 

Lanie Mousel led Colman-Egan scoring a run and driving in a run. Harper Mousel, Addison Giegle, Karissa Williams and Brianne Bown each collected hits for Colman-Egan.
