Boys Hanson Classic Roundup - Hanson holds off Gregory for 12-point win

Hanson 50, Gregory 38

MITCHELL — Hanson picked up a boys basketball win over Gregory at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Hanson was led by Jayce Slaba with 19 points, while Ethan Cheeseman finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Ben Wilber had nine points, while Sutton Dewald added eight points.

Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Noah Bearshield had nine points and four assists. Cuz Klundt and Jackson Bolander each had seven points, while Bolander grabbed seven rebounds.

 

Harding County 52, Bridgewater-Emery 49

MITCHELL — Harding County edged Bridgewater-Emery for a boys basketball win at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Harding County’s Gage Gilbert tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Dawson Kautzman recorded 16 points and six rebounds. Keegan Hett had 10 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Kelby Hett added eight points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Camdyn Stotereau scored a game-high 20 points, while Sutton Arend finished with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Sam Hofer added six points and five assists.

 

Clark/Willow Lake 47, Canistota 41

MITCHELL — Clark/Willow Lake edged Canistota for a boys basketball win at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

CWL’s Kaplan Felberg scored a game-high 24 points and seven rebounds. Trey Huber had 10 points, while Cole Brenden added six points.

Canistota’s Tage Ortman scored 14 points, while Brandon Kjetland had 10 points and 16 rebounds. Trace Ortman added eight points.

 

Hamlin 73, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 48

MITCHELL — Hamlin pulled past Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a boys basketball win at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson recorded 24 points, five assists and four 3-pointers. Easton Neuendorf logged 18 points and four assists. Brennan Keszler had eight points and five rebounds. Jackson Wadsworth posted seven points, while Zac VanMeeteren added six points and seven rebounds. 

MVP’s Reed Rus finished with 26 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Zach Baker logged nine points. Mason Hetland had five points and five rebounds. Jordan Stoltz finished with five points and seven rebounds.


Winner 51, St. Thomas More 46

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Winner to a boys basketball win over Class A No. 4 St. Thomas More at the Hanson Classic on Saturday.

Winner’s Aiden Barfuss finished with 15 points, four rebounds and four steals. Blake Volmer and Pierce Nelson scored 11 points apiece. Volmer added seven rebounds and four assists. Nelson logged five rebounds. Shawn Hammerbeck added eight points and 10 rebounds. Ethan Bartels logged six points and four rebounds. 

STM’s Caleb Hollenbeck recorded 17 points and hit four 3-pointers. Lee Neugebauer added 14 points and four rebounds. Will Green posted nine points.
