BURKE — The Burke girls cruised to Tuesday’s Meet of Legends team title.
The Cougars piled up 213 points, finishing ahead of Kimball/White Lake (84.5) and Gregory (73) in the team race. The Gregory boys edged Platte-Geddes (107-101) for the boys team title. Winner (97) placed third.
In girls action, Burke’s Breckynn Pistulka won the 100-meter dash (:13.34) and 200-meter dash (:27.86). Pistulka also ran the anchor leg on the winning 800-meter relay (1:53.23). Pistulka was also a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:17.90).
Burke’s Piper Hanson captured first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (:15.51) and 300-meter hurdles (:49.74). Hanson ran the anchor leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay and was on the winning sprint medley relay (4:30.63).
Burke’s Paige Bull won the discus (127-1) and placed second in the shot put (33-10). Burke’s Emily Diekmann won the high jump (4-9), while teammate Daytona Paris (4-8) placed second. Paris won the triple jump (31-10).
Kimball/White Lake’s Autumn Baker won the 1,600-meter run (5:23.38) and 3,200-meter run (12:01.63).
Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth captured first place in the shot put (39-5).
The Winner girls won the 400-meter relay (:53.89) and Wessington Springs girls won the 3,200-meter relay (12:02.00).
In boys action, Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell cleared 6-7 to win the high jump. Gregory’s Luke Barreto won the 3,200-meter run (10:39.46) and was a member of the winning 3,200-meter relay (9:23.39).
Gregory’s Rane Kenzy won the javelin with a mark of 142-4.
Platte-Geddes’ Skyler Hanten won the 100-meter dash (:11.57) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (:23.77). Hanten also anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:45.36) and 800-meter relay (1:33.80).
Colome’s Joseph Laprath won the 1,600-meter run (4:44.05), placed second in the 800-meter run (2:12.03) and fourth in the 3,200-meter run (11:57.43).
Winner’s Austin Blare captured first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.29) and 300-meter hurdles (:46.13).
The Winner boys won the 1,600-meter relay (3:41.38) and sprint medley relay (3:44.69).
Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck won the shot put (44-1), discus (143-4) and placed third in the javelin (125-4).
Burke’s Iker Diaz Montilla won the triple jump (39-10.5) and placed second in the high jump (6-3).
