Cheyenne-Eagle Butte - Tiospaye Topa finishes All-Nations regular season with seed-clinching win over Standing Rock

Knowing they needed a win in their regular season finale to host a playoff game, the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa Braves delivered an 18-12 win over Standing Rock, North Dakota. 

Danah Diver ground out 97 yards rushing and a touchdown while senior Tell Murray tossed a touchdown pass to Wiley Lawrence that closed out the regular season with a 4-3 record and the No. 4 seed in the upcoming All-Nations Football Conference playoffs.

“I feel like we played alright,” Coach Larry Elwess said.”Our defense is really starting to play well.” 

Austin Johnson led the Braves with 13 tackles and a fumble recovery. Hunter Hawk Eagle had seven tackles, 2.5 sacks, one which went for a safety. 

“We also had a second safety with Wiley Lawrence, Easton Lawrence and Mathias Mandan combining for a sack,” Elwess said. “Nehemiah Veaux had four tackles and an interception after having two against Pine Ridge last week.” 


The Braves closed the regular season with wins over Pine Ridge and Standing Rock.

Standing Rock’s Thane Beheler had a hand in both Warrior touchdowns. He found Leondre Twinn with a perfect strike for a 50-yard touchdown.He also had a five-yard touchdown run.

Antrell Harlan (Winnebago) and Ty Valandra (Todd County) closing in on All-Nations milestones: 

  • For the last four years Winnebago’s Antrell Harlan has been a fixture at running back and linebacker for the Winnebago Indians. Harlan showcased his running abilities against Little Wound this week rushing for 108 yards and five touchdowns. For his career Harlan now has 63 rushing touchdowns and 2,963 rushing yards. 

  • Todd County’s Ty Valandra, a junior, went over the 2,000 career rushing yards mark in this week’s 44-6 win over St. Francis Indian. In that game against St. Francis, Valandra rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns. For the season he has 1,104 yards rushing and 14 rushing touchdowns

  • Bob Kornely’s Todd County team is currently on a 17-game winning streak
