Hot Springs 47, Winner 43

CHAMBERLAIN — Hot Springs outlasted No. 4 Winner in SoDak 16 boys basketball action and advanced to the Class A state tournament. 

Hot Springs’ Camron Maciejewski led the Bison with 18 points and five rebounds. Josh Kleinsasser added 13 points. Matt Close had six points, eight rebounds and four assists. Preston Iverson had five points. 

Winner’s Blake Volmer finished with 24 points and six rebounds. Norman Chasing Hawk IV had six points. Aiden Barfuss logged four points and six assists. Shawn Hammerbeck logged seven rebounds and three points. Ethan Bartels added five rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 94, Miller 41

HARRISBURG — Dakota Valley made history on Tuesday.

The Panthers won their 50th straight game, setting a Class A record for the longest winningest streak in state history. Custer (1989-91) held the previous record with 49 straight. 

Dakota Valley’s Isaac Bruns scored 32 points, while Jaxson Wingert added 17 points. Jaxon Hennies scored 13 points and Randy Rosenquist Jr., had eight points. 

Miller’s Alex Schumacher had 10 points and Spencer Fernholz added nine points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 73, Hanson 31

MADISON — Cole Snyder and Ethan Bruns combined to score 35 points as Sioux Falls Christian picked up a win over Hanson in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Snyder led all scorers with 18 points while Bruns poured in 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Jude VanDonkersgoed scored seven points while Griffen Goodbary and Britton Mulder each scored six points for the Chargers. 

Jayce Slaba led Hanrson with 12 points and three rebounds. Ethan Cheeseman finished with eight points and four rebounds. 


Hamlin 66, Madison 41

HURON — Three players scored in double figures as Hamlin advanced to the Class A state tournament with a boys basketball win over Madison. 

Easton Neuendorf powered Hamlin with 17 points, two rebounds and four assists. Even Stromo finished with 16 points and eight rebounds while Tyson Stevenson chipped in with 14 points and three assists. 

Aiden Jensen led Madison with 18 points and nine rebounds. Charles Callahan and Ben Brooks each recorded nine points for Madison. 

 

Elk Point-Jefferson 58, Waubay/Summit 50

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures as Elk Point-Jefferson slipped past Waubay/Summit in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Garrett Merkley led EPJ with 15 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jakob Scarmon added 14 points and three rebounds while Evan Fornia scored 13 points and dished out three assists. 

Damon Opdahl led Waubay/Summit with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jonathan Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed three rebounds.
