Centerville 65, Dell Rapids St. Mary 50

HURON — Emma Marshall’s double-double powered Centerville to a third place finish at the Class B state tournament Saturday over Dell Rapids St. Mary.

Marshall finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the win. Althea Gust also scored 15 points, tallying three rebounds and three assists, Brea Austin totaled 11 points, three rebounds and three steals, while Keira Austin totaled 10 points and two assists in the win.

DRSM’s Madala Hanson had 12 points and six steals, Brianna Griffin netted 12 points, three rebounds and two steals, Addison Libis tallied 11 points, three rebounds and two steals, while Maddyn LeBrun totaled five points and 10 rebounds in the loss.


Harding County 48, Deubrook Area 39

HURON — Harding County took down Deubrook Area to take seventh place at the State B girls basketball tournament.

The Ranchers were powered by Bailey Verhulst, tallying 13 points and four rebounds, Brayden Padden added 11 points and four rebounds, Kaylen Padden netted seven points and seven rebounds, while Kamry Padden and Rael Hunsucker each scored six points in the win.

DA’s Kylee Johnson tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, Matte Bauman added 10 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Mataya Gouws totaled six points and six rebounds in the loss.


Parkston 38, Lyman 35

HURON — Parkston clipped Lyman to claim the Class B state consolation championship Saturday.

The Trojans were led by Keeara Oakley posting a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, adding two steals as well. Lauren Ziebart netted 10 points and four boards, Mya Thuringer collected eight points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks, while Berkley Ziebart had eight points, five rebounds and two assists in the win.

Lyman’s Bree Smart led with 10 points, nine rebounds and a block, Jordyn Scott had nine points, two blocks and two steals, Mak Scott tallied eight points and nine rebounds, while Brooke Palmer scored six points and three boards in the loss.


Bennett County 71, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 61

HURON — Reagan O’Neill’s 25-point double-double powered Bennett County past Sanborn Central-Woonsocket for the Class B state championship Saturday.

O’Neill finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds and three steals, Peyson O’Neill added 18 points, five rebounds and five steals, Thomiah Poor Bear had 15 points, seven assists and three rebounds, while Madi Waln added seven points, seven rebounds and three rebounds in the win.

SCW’s ALexa Goertz tallied 15 points and five rebounds, Liz Boschee had 15 points, five steals and three rebounds, Kaylie Robinson added 13 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Addison Bartholow netted 11 points, three rebounds and three assists in the loss.
