With the warmer weather and big meets like the Howard Wood Dakota Relays, the Class B girls top-10 went for a big-time reshuffling. 

One of this week’s top performers was Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern. Boekelheide won her heat of the 3,200 meter run Friday (11:32.17) and now sits firmly atop the Class B rankings. She doubled back Friday with a 5:23.64 (1,600) and is also the Class B leader in that event. 

Edgemont’s Morgan Peterson didn’t run in Sioux Falls but she ran the 300-hurdles in :47.90 and leads that event by almost a full second over Hadley Carlson (Arlington) who has a best time of :48.74. 

Two relay teams that strung together elite performances in Sioux Falls were the Chester girls and the Potter County girls. 

Chester Area dipped under 10-minutes (9:57.90) in the 3,200 meter relay. The Flyers also are ranked No. 2 in the Sprint Medley Relay and 4th in the 1,600 meter relay. 

The Potter County girls also had a terrific week. The Battlers finished 2nd in the 3,200 meter relay (10:01). The girls are also ranked fifth in the sprint-Medley relay. In the last event on the track in Sioux Falls the Battlers rolled out the fastest Class B, 1,600 meter relay time (4:17.31) winning that event at Howard Wood. That is the first Howard Wood Dakota Relays title as a co-op. 

Did anyone notice Sully Buttes athlete Lydia Hill finishing 4th in the girls shot put at Howard Wood? Her toss of 39-10 is now the top throw in Class B. Hill is ranked No. 2 in the Class B discus with a best throw of 126-7.
