Pine Ridge 66, Tiospa Zina 53

RAPID CITY — Pine Ridge picked up a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Pine Ridge Kanye Hollow Horn tallied 16 points and seven rebounds, while Justin Eagle recorded 12 points and seven rebounds. Bradley Jensen had 10 points and six rebounds, while Anthony Steele totaled nine points. Jaylin Rouillard added seven points.

Tiospa Zina’s Storm Sierra led with 17 points, while Nate Thompson had 15 points. Mike Smith recorded 10 points, while Reondre Greeley added seven points.


Lower Brule 65, McLaughlin 37

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class B No. 4 Lower Brule to a win over McLaughlin at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday. 

Gavin Thigh paced Lower Brule with 29 points, seven steals, six 3-pointers and four assists. Lane Gray added 14 points and hit three 3-pointers. Brian LaRoche Jr., logged 13 points and nailed three 3-pointers for Lower Brule, which drilled 13 total 3-pointers. Ellwyn Langdeau and Tayshawn Battese had six and five rebounds, respectively. 

McLaughlin’s Elias Sims scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds. Jre Antelope added seven points and four rebounds. Cassidy Demery had six points and four rebounds, while Renzo Bull Head had five points and six boards. 


Red Cloud 66, Wall 40

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Red Cloud to a win over Wall at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Josiah Cottier led the Crusaders with 19 points, while Adriano Rama logged 12 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three 3-pointers. Wally Left Hand added 18 points and nine rebounds. Monty Montileaux added six points and six rebounds. 

Wall’s Cedar Amiotte recorded 12 points and five rebounds. Dawson Handcock posted nine points and five rebounds, while Ben Amundson logged nine points and four rebounds. Emmet Dinger scored six points. 


Lakota Tech 73, St. Francis 30

RAPID CITY — Marvin Richard III paced Lakota Tech to a win over St. Francis at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Richard III finished with 20 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Wakiyan Cuny and Kendrell Cuevas recorded 10 points apiece. Nathan LeBeaux and Jamiah Bianis scored eight points apiece. 

St. Francis’ Hocakan Two Eagle logged 13 points and grabbed five rebounds. Cante Kills In Water scored seven points and collected six rebounds. 


Custer 67, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 44

RAPID CITY — Rhett Lowe and Kyle Virtue combined for 41 points to power Custer to a win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Lowe logged 21 points and was a perfect 6 of 6 from the 3-point line. Virtue added 20 points and six rebounds. Gage Grohs logged eight points and seven boards. Kincade Lehman added five points. 

CEB’s MacKenzie Cass poured in a game-high 28 points, grabbed seven rebounds and hit three 3-pointers. Austin Johnson scored seven points. 


White River 82, Marty 52

RAPID CITY — Joe Sayler’s big game pushed Class B No. 1 White River past Marty for an opening round win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Sayler poured in a game-high 36 points. Sayler also scored his 2,000th career point in the game. Nic Marshall tallied 30 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Gavin Folkers added nine points and six rebounds.

Marty was led by Benicio Zephier with 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists, while Terill Rave tallied 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Greg Zephier and Amaziah Zephier added eight and five points, respectively.


Rapid City Christian 77, Crow Creek 33

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian used a 52-11 first half to cruise past Crow Creek for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Wednesday.

Rapid City Christian was led by Benson Kieffer with 18 points, while Cayden Von Eye tallied 12 points. Hayden Wozna recorded 11 points and seven rebounds, while Julius Frog had 10 points and four steals. Wes Schlabach had seven points, while Wyatt Batie and Elijah Hoyt each had six points.

Crow Creek’s Quentin McBride Jr. totaled 13 points, while Cory Big Eagle Jr. had seven points.
