Rapid City Christian 73, Lower Brule 66

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian had four players score in double figures as the Comets outlasted Class B No. 4 Lower Brule for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

RCC was led by Julius Frog with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Sam Fischer scored 14 points and nine rebounds. Simon Kieffer had 11 points and five steals, while Benson Kieffer had 11 points and five rebounds. Elijah Hoyt added seven points and nine rebounds.

Lower Brule was led by Brian LaRoche Jr. with 21 points and six rebounds, while Gavin Thigh tallied 15 points. Ellwyn Langdeau recorded 14 points, while Lane Gray added 11 points.


White River 52, Lakota Tech 43

RAPID CITY — Class B No. 1 White River held off Lakota Tech for a boys basketball win and returned to the Lakota Nation Invitational championship game on Friday. The Tigers will play Rapid City Christian in the championship on Saturday.

White River’s Joe Sayler and T.J. Beardt scored 20 points apiece, while Nic Marshall added 10 points. 

Lakota Tech’s Wakiyan Cuny tossed in 12 points, while Marvin Richard III logged 11 points and seven rebounds. Kendrell Cuevas and Jordan Whirlwind Horse scored eight points apiece. 

 

Tiospa Zina 69, Crow Creek 56

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures to lift Tiospa Zina to a boys basketball win over Crow Creek at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Saturday. 

Tiospa Zina’s Mike Smith finished with 16 points. Nate Thompson and Tate Never Misses A Shot added 12 points apiece. Reondre Greeley added 11 points. Storm Sierra logged eight points and seven rebounds. Juan Rice posted five points and nine rebounds. 

Crow Creek’s Kiron Thompson scored 13 points, while Quentin McBride Jr., netted 12 points. Jayden Sazue and Josiah Kirkie scored six points apiece. Julius Grey Owl had five points.

 

Custer 49, Todd County 48

RAPID CITY — Custer rallied from a five-point deficit with 20 seconds left to edge Todd County for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Custer’s Kyle Virtue logged 25 points and 12 rebounds, while he banked in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to complete the five-point comeback. Rhett Lowe tallied 17 points and three steals.

Todd County’s Ray Crow had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Wakinyan Sa Selwyn had 13 points and five steals. Charles Long added 11 points.


Red Cloud 66, Pine Ridge 55

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to pace Red Cloud past Pine Ridge for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Red Cloud’s Adriano Rama logged 22 points and seven rebounds. Josiah Cottier and Jules Ecoffey scored 13 points apiece. Haedyn Haas and Gabriel Brooks scored six and five points, respectively. Monty Montileaux added seven rebounds and four points. 

Pine Ridge’s Justin Eagle tossed in 18 points and hit four 3-pointers. Jaylin Rouillard and Kanye Hollow Horn scored 12 and 11 points apiece. 

 

 

Wall 83, McLaughlin 79 (3OT) 

RAPID CITY — Wall outlasted McLaughlin in three overtimes to pick up a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. 

Jace Mohr powered the Eagles with 31 points and hit four 3-pointers, including a triple to send the game into triple overtime. Ben Amundson added 19 points, eight boards and three 3-pointers. Cedar Amiotte posted 14 points, five rebounds and six steals. Brodi Sundall recorded 13 points and 17 rebounds. Emmet Dinger logged five points. 

McLaughlin’s Raymin Yellow Earrings tossed in 24 points and grabbed five rebounds. Lane Lawrence scored 18 points on six 3-pointers, including a triple to send the game into overtime. Jre Antelope scored 15 points and dished out five assists, while his jumper forced double overtime. Renzo Bull Head added seven points and 13 rebounds. 


Little Wound 67, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 37

RAPID CITY — Little Wound pulled away from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Little Wound’s Cashus Hunter had 14 points and three assists, while Tristen Kills Small tallied 12 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Daelan LaBeaux had nine points, while Chavez Brave Bird added seven points and seven rebounds.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Todd LaPlante had eight points, while MacKenzie Cass had six points and six rebounds. Damien Clown also had six points.


Tiospaye Topa 73, Takini 44 

RAPID CITY — Kris Meeter and Dennis Sand III combined for 48 points to pace Tiospaye Topa to a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. 

Meeter poured in 28 points and collected 10 rebounds. Sand III added 20 points, six rebounds and three 3-pointers. Jorge Hawk posted five points and five rebounds. T.J. Lawrence had five rebounds and four points. 

Takini’s Redick Curley tossed in 33 points, grabbed six rebounds and hit four 3-pointers. Logan Quilt logged seven points and five rebounds. 


Dupree 66, Oelrichs 20

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to lift Dupree to a boys basketball win over Oelrichs at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. 

Braydon Terveen-Smith and Randen Eagle Chasing logged 13 points and five rebounds apiece. Klayte McLellan scored 12 points. Nathan Hall finished with eight points. Tre White Wolf scored six points, while Kion Pretty Weasel had five points. 

Oelrichs’ Edwin Fills Pipe had six points and 12 rebounds. Stanley Walking had 16 rebounds and four points. 


Marty 69, St. Francis 46

RAPID CITY — Marty raced past St. Francis for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Marty was led by Benicio Zephier with 17 points, eight steals, and seven assists, while Greg Zephier had 15 points. Terill Rave had eight points, while Amaziah Zephier and Jordan Zephier had seven points apiece.

St. Francis was led by Sean Redday with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Hocakan Two Eagle had eight points. Shane Henry tallied seven points and 10 rebounds, while Cante Kills In Water added six points and eight rebounds.


Crazy Horse 60, Wakpala 42

RAPID CITY — Crazy Horse pulled away from Wakpala for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Crazy Horse was led by Richard Pumpkin Seed with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Devaughn Milk scored 12 points and five rebounds, while Trey Lamont and Donnie Hoof each had seven points.

Wakpala’s Lance Cadotte recorded 17 points, while Wakiya Plenty Chief had nine points and six rebounds. Ashtyn Kills Small added seven points. 


Omaha Nation (Neb.) 62, Santee (Neb.) 54

RAPID CITY — Omaha Nation outlasted Santee for a boys basketball win at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday.

Omaha Nation was led by Kenyon White Eyes with 19 points and five rebounds, while Keiyan Parker had 14 points and nine rebounds. Jonny Walker tallied nine points, while Keithin Miller recorded eight points. Caron Saunsoci added seven points and 11 rebounds.

Santee’s Austyn Saul scored a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds, while Kellen Medina had nine points. Justus Denney had seven points and 11 rebounds, while Marquis Tuttle added rebounds.
