Boys

McCook Central/Montrose 73, Bon Homme 46

TYNDALL — Boston Katzer tossed in 30 points to power McCook Central/Montrose to a boys basketball win over Bon Homme on Saturday. 

Katzer added four 3-pointers and four rebounds. Mason Sabers recorded 13 points and four steals. Owen Alley finished with 11 points. Jackson Schmidt and Ty Morrison had seven and six points, respectively. Morrison grabbed seven rebounds. 

Bon Homme’s Chapin Cooper and Easton Mudder scored 13 points apiece. Landon Bares recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. Logan Winckler and Jace Toupal had six and five points, respectively. Toupal collected six rebounds. 

Hanson 57, Menno 34

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson picked up a boys basketball win over Menno on Saturday. 

Jayce Slaba led the Beavers with 19 points, seven steals and four assists. Jackson Jarding added 13 points and eight rebounds. 

Menno’s Kadeyn Ulmer scored 15 points, while Maveric Smith had eight points. 

Scotland 64, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 48

NEW HOLLAND — Scotland pulled away from Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Scotland’s Cole Friederich scored 14 points, while Parker Hochstein had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ashton Dennis had 11 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, while Kory Keppen added seven rebounds and six steals.

ACDC was led by Garth Maas and Ryder Niewenhuis with nine points apiece. Maas also had 13 rebounds and five assists. Tyson Cournoyer had eight points, while Hunter Loeffler had five assists.

Girls

Viborg-Hurley 66, Irene-Wakonda 33

IRENE — Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley coasted to a girls basketball win over Irene-Wakonda on Saturday. 

Coral Mason led the Cougars with 23 points, six steals, five assists, four rebounds and three blocked shots. Charley Nelson logged 14 points and four boards. Denae Mach added 12 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Estelle Lee posted 10 points and three rebounds. 

IW’s Emma Marshall tossed in 20 points, while Kaitlynn Mellem had eight points. Madison Orr scored five points. 

Hanson 73, Menno 44

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson coasted past Menno for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Eliza Oltmanns and Alyssa Moschell scored 13 points apiece. Moschell added eight rebounds and five steals. Oltmanns added six rebounds and four steals. Taziah Hawkins finished with 12 points, while Kylie Haiar had nine points and 10 rebounds. Karlie Goergen dished out five assists. 

Menno’s Layne Schmidt finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Abby Bender and Julia Buechler scored nine points apiece. 

Andes Central/Dakota Christian 46, Scotland 41

NEW HOLLAND — Andes Central/Dakota Christian outlasted Scotland for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

ACDC was led by Josie Brouwer with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Allison Muckey had 11 points. Gabby Olson had eight points and six rebounds, while Halle Olson added 10 rebounds, six blocked shots, and three steals.

Scotland was led by Martina DeBoer with 14 points and five steals, while Claire Janish had 11 points. Trinity Bietz had six rebounds.

LeMars, Iowa, 74, Dakota Valley 51

NORTH SIOUX CITY — LeMars, Iowa, picked up a girls basketball win over Dakota Valley on Saturday. 

Dakota Valley’s Melina Snoozy recorded 18 points, while Jorja VanDenHul added 12 points and seven rebounds. Cameryn Sommervold posted nine points. Ella Reifenrath grabbed six rebounds. 

LeMars’ Metta Skov scored 32 points.
