Girls

Howard 55, Freeman 44

HOWARD — Abby Aslesen’s double-double helped propel Howard to a girls basketball victory over Freeman on Monday night. 

Aslesen fueled the Tiger attack with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Kate Connor finished with seven points and nine rebounds, while Trinity Palmquist added seven points and seven rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch dished out four assists and Canyon Kidd led Howard with four steals. 

Freeman’s Ashlin Jacobsen scored 15 points with teammate Peyton McCune having 10 points. Erin Uecker had eight points and nine rebounds for Freeman. 


Hanson 59, Avon 29 

MITCHELL — Erin Dewald and Annalyse Weber combined for 25 points to pace Hanson to a girls basketball win on Monday. 

Dewald and Weber scored 13 and 12 points, respectively. Weber added four assists. Karlie Goergen added nine points, eight rebounds and five assists. Eliza Oltmanns finished with eight points and four steals. Alyssa Moschell had six rebounds. 

Avon’s McKenna Kocmich recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Lila Vanderlei and Courtney Sees scored eight and seven points, respectively. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 62, Gayville-Volin 36

LAKE ANDES — Andes Central/Dakota Christian picked up a girls basketball win over Gayville-Volin on Monday. 

ACDC’s Gabby Olson finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Josie Brouwer added 11 points. Allison Muckey recorded 10 points and seven rebounds. Mahpiya Irving finished with nine points and four assists. Halle Olson posted 11 rebounds and four steals. Leah Brown collected five rebounds.

GV’s Taylor Horeng finished with 15 points and Parsley Dimmer scored eight points. 


North Central 42, Strasburg/Zeeland, N.D., 33

EUREKA — North Central held off Strasburg/Zeeland, North Dakota, for a girls basketball win on Monday. 

Brittney Frickson finished with nine points, while Ella Batie and Kaitlyn Hoerner added eight points apiece. Jenisa Jacobs, Alaina Dosch and Amree VanderVorst scored five points apiece. 

Strasburg/Zeeland’s Addison Wagner scored eight points. Avery VanderVorst and Morgan Huizenga scored eight and seven points, respectively. 


Estelline/Hendricks 49, Iroquois/Lake Preston 43

HENDRICKS — Estelline/Hendricks rallied past Iroquois/Lake Preston for a girls basketball win on Monday. 

Sadie Johnson finished with 14 points, while Kenzy Beare added 12 points. Brooke Johnson scored nine points. Madelyn Ebbers had five points. 

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Adison Moore tossed in 34 points. Hadlee Holt scored nine points. 


Britton-Hecla 30, Aberdeen Christian 28

ABERDEEN — Britton-Hecla edged Aberdeen Christian for a girls basketball win on Monday.

BH’s Tiyanna Schott totaled 14 points and nine rebounds, while Addison Wade had six points.

AC’s Chloe Holt tallied 11 points, while Chloe Bosma added five points.


Lennox 47, Canton 28

LENNOX — Three Lennox players scored 11 points apiece to pace the Orioles to a girls basketball win over Canton on Monday.

Dani Highum, Courtney Sandal and Andie Peters all scored 11 points in the win. Sandal grabbed four rebounds. 

Canton’s Danica Rozeboom scored eight points. 


Harrisburg 45, Marshall, Minn., 40

HARRISBURG — Class AA No. 5 Harrisburg edged Marshall, Minnesota, in girls basketball action on Monday. 

Harrisburg’s Abigail Flanagan recorded 13 points, while Sadie Mehrman had 11 points. 

Marshall’s Brianna Simpson had 18 points and nine rebounds. 


Brandon Valley 49, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 45

BRANDON — Brandon Valley built a 21-8 first-quarter lead and held off Sioux Falls Roosevelt for a girls basketball win on Monday.

Brandon Valley’s Ava Kellenberger netted 12 points. Hilary Behrens and Jaida Metzger scored 10 points apiece. Kennedi Deckert scored seven points. 

Roosevelt’s Brooklyn Koll scored 14 points. Katie Spice and Aubreigh McCall scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Madison Smalley added five points. 


Boys

Howard 61, Freeman 43

HOWARD — Three players scored in double figures to pace Howard to a boys basketball win over Freeman on Monday. 

Taiden Hoyer finished with 22 points, while Kolt Koepsell added 19 points. Luke Koepsell scored 12 points. 

Freeman’s Rocky Ammann scored 18 points, while Tate Sorensen added 13 points. Ethan Balvin scored five points. 


Hanson 56, Kimball/White Lake 40

MITCHELL — Ethan Cheeseman and Jayce Slaba combined for 30 points to pace Hanson to a boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Monday.

Cheeseman finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. Slaba added 10 points and six assists. Jackson Jarding dished out five assists. 

KWL’s Blake Leiferman finished with 19 points. Jayson Pursell added eight points and Dawson Miller grabbed eight rebounds. 


Castlewood 66, Elkton-Lake Benton 50

CASTLEWOOD — Class B No. 5 Castlewood pulled away from Elkton-Lake Benton for a boys basketball win on Monday. 

Lane Tvedt finished with 23 points and nailed four 3-pointers. Bryon Laue recorded 18 points and nine rebounds. Jackson Schofield finished with eight points and seven rebounds. Booker Schooley added seven points and nine assists. Jamison Keszler had five points, while Quincy Thu added nine rebounds. 

ELB’s Ryan Krog finished with 13 points, while Tanner Stein recorded 11 points and seven rebounds. Blake DeVries finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Carson Griffith added seven points and seven rebounds. Tanner Drietz scored five points. 


Gayville-Volin 56, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 43

LAKE ANDES — Spencer Karstens and Preston Karstens combined for 36 points to pace Gayville-Volin past Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a boys basketball win on Monday. 

Spencer Karstens logged 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Preston Karstens added 15 points and 10 boards. 

ACDC’s A.J. Johnson posted 14 points. Hunter Loeffler and Garth Maas finished with nine points apiece. Sabas DeHaan scored five points. Tate Timmermans grabbed five rebounds. 

 

Aberdeen Christian 64, Britton-Hecla 27

BRITTON — Class B No. 3 Aberdeen Christian raced past Britton-Hecla for a boys basketball win on Monday.

AC was led by Malek Wieker with 16 points, while Ethan Russell and Jackson Isakson each had 11 points. Andrew Brennan had nine points, while Kaden Clark and Abe Holscher each had five points. 

BH was led by Ty Fagerland with seven points, while Landon Carlson had six points.


West Central 61, Garretson 36

HARTFORD — West Central had two players reach double figures as the Trojans earned a Monday night win over West Central.

Erik Seten led the way with 14 points, five assists and three steals. Crew Heier added 11 points and seven rebounds while Brodier Herr finished with eight points, seven rebounds and four assists. Owen Heath contributed eight points and Connor Eich had seven points and nine rebounds. 

Garretson’s Ian Beuttner had 14 points to lead Garretson with Ramsey Schweitzer adding eight points.
