Ethan 67, McCook Central/Montrose 64

MITCHELL — Ethan outscored McCook Central/Montrose 16-4 in the fourth quarter to pick up a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday.

Ethan’s Riley Endres led all scorers with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Kody Klumb tallied 15 points, while Drake Gustafson recorded 12 points, and six assists.

MCM’s Mason Sabers led with 16 points and six assists, while Boston Katzer had 13 points. Ty Morrison had 10 points, while Owen Alley and Isaac Kane each added nine points.


Viborg-Hurley 58, Gregory 44

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday.

Gage Goettertz finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Nick Hanson added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bryson Morrison recorded 11 points, while Kobee Sherman had five points. 

Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell logged 16 points and seven rebounds. Noah Bearshield and Cruz Klundt logged six points apiece. Rane Kenzy and Nick Kenzy each scored five points. 


Hamlin 55, Howard 49

MITCHELL — Hamlin held off Howard for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday. 

Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson finished with 16 points, while Brennan Keszler logged 14 points and eight rebounds. Zac VanMeeteren and Rylan Bawdon scored seven points apiece, while VanMeeteren grabbed six boards. Easton Neuendorf posted six points, five rebounds and five assists. Jackson Wadsworth scored five points. 

Howard’s Kolt Koepsell finished with 19 points and eight rebounds. Luke Koepsell added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Colby Claussen added five points. 

 

Campbell County (Wyo.) 59, Mitchell 39 (girls)

MITCHELL — Campbell County (Wyo.) pulled away from Mitchell for a girls basketball win on Wednesday.

Campbell County was led by Kaylie Neary with 15 points, while Raimi Hladky had 11 points. Cami Curtis and Onna Castellanos each had 10 points, while Millie Riss grabbed 10 boards.

Mitchell’s Sawyer Stoebner led with 12 points and 20 rebounds, while Addie Siemsen had 10 points. Allison Meyerink added eight points and six rebounds.

 

Houston (Tenn.) 65, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 48

MITCHELL — Three scored 15 points apiece to pace Houston (Tenn.) to a boys basketball win over Thunder Basin (Wyo.) at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday. 

Mavrick Miller, Kameron Clark and Ethan Phillips scored 15 points apiece, while Clark grabbed seven rebounds. Brock Vice added six points and 10 rebounds. D.J. Miller and Kylan Clark scored seven points apiece. D.J. Miller added six rebounds and four assists. 

Thunder Basin’s Bodie Williams finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. Kayden Laframboise added 14 points and four rebounds. Caleb Howell and Josh Klassen scored five points apiece.

 

Mitchell 83, Campbell County (Wyo.) 61

MITCHELL — Six players scored in double figures to pace Mitchell to a boys basketball win over Campbell County (Wyo.) on Wednesday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Charlie McCardle led the Kernels with 14 points. Colton Smith and Dylan Soulek scored 12 points apiece, while Soulek dished out eight assists. Markus Talley logged 11 points and five rebounds. Steele Morgan posted 10 points and six boards. Aiden Myers scored seven points. 

Campbell County’s Jeffrey Pelton scored 15 points. Lane Hladky scored 12 points, while Nash Lutgen added 10 points. Rylan Robertson, Seth Peterson and Kody Kline scored six points apiece.

 

Waubay/Summit 64, Canistota 56

MITCHELL — Waubay/Summit outlasted Canistota for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday.

Waubay/Summit’s Damon Opdahl led with 18 points, while Jonathan Johnston and Jackson Wohlleber each had 17 points. Brady Lindholm added six points.

Canistota’s Tye Merrill tallied 18 points, while Brandon Kjetland totaled 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tage Ortman had 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Trace Ortman added six points.


White River 62, Bridgewater-Emery 61

MITCHELL — Gavin Folkers drilled a 3-pointer with :1.2 seconds left, lifting the No. 1 Tigers past Bridgewater-Emery for an entertaining boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic. 

The penultimate game of Wednesday’s Hoop City Classic featured a pair of high-scoring guards in White River’s Joe Sayler (26 points) and Bridgewater-Emery’s Sutton Arend (23 points). White River’s Nicolas Marshall added 20 points, while Bridgewater-Emery’s Jaxon Koch scored 11 points.  


Aberdeen Christian 62, Lower Brule 48

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to lift Aberdeen Christian to a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Wednesday.

Ethan Russell, Malek Wieker and Kaden Clark scored 12 points apiece. Jackson Isakson added 10 points, while Konnar Furman scored seven points. 

Lower Brule’s Lane Gray finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Brian LaRoche Jr., added 11 points and six rebounds. Tayshawn Battese logged eight points and 10 rebounds. Ellwyn Langdeau and Tate Elk Soldier scored six points apiece.
