Dec. 29 Hoop City Classic Roundup - Lennox outlasts Waconia (Minn.) at Sanford Pentagon

Lennox 75, Waconia (Minn.) 73

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures as Lennox edged Waconia (Minn.) in boys basketball action at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday. 

Porter Ihnen led the Orioles with 28 points on 10 of 19 shooting from the field. Jaxon Plank added 16 points and four steals. Conner Eich logged 14 points and hit four 3-pointers. Braxton Musser finished with nine points on 3 of 3 shooting 3-pointers. 

Waconia’s William Kirsch recorded 20 points and six assists. Gavin Olson logged 16 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Jackson Hayes scored 16 points. Christopher Fulford and Ty Miller scored eight and five points, respectively. 


Campbell County (Wyo.) 56, Viborg-Hurley 55 (Girls)

SIOUX FALLS — Campbell County (Wyo.) edged Viborg-Hurley for a girls basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday. Campbell County’s Madison Robertson hit a game-winning three-pointer as time expired to lift the Camels past the Cougars.

Campbell County was led by Mille Riss with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Cami Curtis had eight points and eight rebounds. Robertson and Kaylie Neary each had seven points. Raimi Hladky and Lauren Kuhbacher each had six points, while Kuhbacher added 11 rebounds.

Viborg-Hurley was led by Coral Mason with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Denae Mach tallied 18 points and seven rebounds.

 

White River 71, Campbell County (Wyo.) 66

SIOUX FALLS — Joe Sayler and Nic Marshall combined for 57 points as Class B No. 1 White River held off Campbell County (Wyo.) for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday.

Sayler led all scorers with 36 points and five assists, while Marshall tallied 21 points. T.J. Beardt added six points and five rebounds. Gavin Folkers grabbed six boards.

Campbell County’s Lane Hladky led with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, while Rylan Robertson had 15 points. Jackson Evans had 11 points, while Nash Lutgen added nine points.

Providence Academy (Minn.) 58, Brandon Valley 32

SIOUX FALLS — Providence Academy (Minn.) used a 20-3 second quarter to pull away from Brandon Valley for a girls basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday.

Providence Academy was led by Grace Counts with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Maddyn Greenway recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Ari Peterson had 11 points, while Brooke Hohenecker added eight points.

Brandon Valley’s Alyvia Padgett tallied 12 points and seven rebounds, while Ava Kellenberger added six points and nine rebounds. Kennedi Deckert grabbed seven boards.

 

Dream City International (Ariz.) 59, Totino-Grace (Minn.) 54

SIOUX FALLS — Dream City International held off Totino-Grace for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday. 

Dream City’s Jovan Milicevic finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Jaion Pitt added nine points and 10 rebounds. Nait George and Tracy Kalonda scored six points apiece. 

Totino-Grace’s Tommy Humphries and Isaiah Johnson scored 14 points apiece. Patrick Bath added 11 points and 13 rebounds. Jayden Livingston and Taison Chatman scored nine and six points, respectively. 

 

DeLaSalle (Minn.) 42, Harrisburg 41

SIOUX FALLS — DeLaSalle (Minn.) held off Harrisburg for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday.

DeLaSalle was led by Nasir Whitlock with 24 points and four steals, while Isreal Moses had 10 points. Ray James grabbed six boards.

Harrisburg’s Ethan Determan scored 17 points, while Jacoby Mehrman logged 12 points and 12 rebounds. Maxwell Knutson led with 13 rebounds.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 63, Orono (Minn.) 43

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Jefferson pulled away from Orono (Minn.) for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Taylen Ashley and Kaden Year each had 15 points. Ashley added seven assists and six rebounds, while Year added nine rebounds and three assists. Griffin Wilde had seven points, while Cameron Black added six points.

Orono was led by Isaiah Hagen and Nolan Groves with 12 points apiece. Brady Wooley had seven points and eight rebounds, while Kyle Kallenbach added six points.

 

Houston (Tenn.) 75, Brandon Valley 74 (2OT)

SIOUX FALLS — Houston (Tenn.) outlasted Brandon Valley in double-overtime for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Thursday.

Houston’s Brock Vice led with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Kameron Clark and Ethan Phillips each had 14 points. Mavrick Miller tallied 12 points and five assists, while Kylan Clark added 10 points.

Brandon Valley’s Lukas Morgan led all scorers with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Cole Dekker logged 15 points, while Dylan Langerock had 11 points. Josh Olthoff had eight points and seven rebounds, while Landon Dulaney and Nate VandeBerg each had six points.
