Boys

Lower Brule 75, Howard 56

HURON — Class B No. 4 Lower Brule pulled away from Howard for a boys basketball win at the Huron Holiday Classic on Friday.

Lower Brule’s Brian LaRoche Jr. netted 22 points and seven rebounds, while Gavin Thigh tallied 17 points. Tayshawn Battese had 12 points, while Lane Gray had 10 points and five steals, while Ellwyn Langdeau added eight points.

Howard’s Kolt Koepsell recorded 17 points and nine rebounds, while Taiden Hoyer had nine points. Will Maier added six points, while Luke Koepsell, Ryder Erickson, and Logan Mentele each had five points.


Faulkton Area 69, Mitchell Christian 62

HURON —  Faulkton Area picked up a win over Mitchell Christian in boys basketball action Friday in Huron. 

Layne Cotton powered the Trojans with 32 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Roman DiMaria tallied 11 points with Charlie Deiter chipping in nine points and five rebounds. 

Aiden Lieber led Mitchell Christian with 21 points and five rebounds. Braedon Nebelsick (17) and Syver Enga (11) also reached double figures for Mitchell Christian. 


Redfield 53, Crazy Horse 37

HURON — Three players scored in double figures as Redfield defeated Crazy Horse for a boys basketball win at the Huron Holiday Classic on Friday.

Redfield’s Jerron Haider tallied 20 points, while Mitchell Mack and Nolan Gall each had 11 points. Gall added nine rebounds. Justin Ratigan added six points and eight rebounds.

Crazy Horse was led by Hayden Martin with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Noah Iron Horse added six points and eight rebounds.


Elkton-Lake Benton 68, Lyman 51

HURON — Elkton-Lake Benton picked up a boys basketball win over Lyman at the Huron Holiday Classic on Friday.

ELB was led by Ryan Krog with 28 points, while Tanner Drietz had 12 points. Garrett Neill had 10 points, while Blake DeVries added seven rebounds.

Lyman’s Cooper Long tallied 17 points, while Ryker Choal had 15 points. Damian Abrahamson added 10 points.

 



Pierre 61, Spearfish 43

SPEARFISH — Class AA No. 3 Pierre pulled past Spearfish for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz logged 23 points and five rebounds. Benjamin Heisler added 15 points, while Jackson Edman had nine points and 10 rebounds. Brecken Krueger had five points. 

Seth Hamilton recorded 25 points, seven rebounds and five 3-pointers. Antonio Serrano logged 11 points and seven rebounds.

 

Platte-Geddes 58, Sisseton 29

SIOUX FALLS — Platte-Geddes used a 24-6 first quarter to pull away from Sisseton for a boys basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Platte-Geddes was led by Tanner Dyk with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Parker Bailey had nine points. Dawson Hoffman had eight points, while Aiden Bultje added six points.

Sisseton’s Carter Stickland and Colter Hanson each had eight points, while Hanson added six rebounds.  


Colome 70, Potter County 49

ABERDEEN — Colome pulled away from Potter County for a boys basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Friday. 

Colome’s Joseph Laprath finished with 24 points. 

Potter County’s Ryder Falkenhagen scored 21 points. 


Ipswich 67, McIntosh 20

ABERDEEN — Ipswich picked up a boys basketball win over McIntosh on Friday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Ipswich’s Trevor Heinz scored 16 points. 

McIntosh’s Daniel Demery finished with 12 points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 53, Langford Area 44

HURON — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket used a 23-point second quarter to earn a win over Langford Area in boys basketball action Friday at the Huron Holiday Classic.

Jeff Boschee led the Blackhawks with 23 points on 11-of-19 shooting. Evan Easton scored nine points with Cody Slykhuis adding seven points and four rebounds. Bryce Larson added three points and seven rebounds while Brady Larson pitched in three points and five rebounds. 

Jesse Keough (16) and Kassen Keough (14) both reached double-figures for Langford Area. 


James Valley Christian 69, Burke 33

HURON — James Valley Christian used a 35-8 second quarter to pull away from Burke for a boys basketball win at the Huron Holiday Classic on Friday.

JVC was led by Landon Wallman with 18 points, while Isaac Korell tallied 16 points. Landon Wager had 12 points, while Ethan Bartholow had nine points and six rebounds. Jerrad Wallman added eight points and six rebounds.

Burke’s Nick Nelson tallied 11 points, while Reed Benter and Jaden Swan each had eight points.


McCook Central/Montrose 58, Corsica-Stickney 35

PARKSTON — Four players scored in double figures as McCook Central/Montrose raced past Corsica-Stickney for a boys basketball win at the Parkston Classic on Friday.

MCM’s Ty Morrison led with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Mason Sabers and Owen Alley each had 12 points. Boston Katzer had 11 points.

Corsica-Stickney’s Tye Hosman led with nine points and six rebounds, while Shad Bosma also had nine points.


Dakota Valley 90, Chamberlain 54

PARKSTON — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley cruised past Chamberlain for a boys basketball win at the Parkston Classic on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Isaac Bruns scored 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaxson Wingert tallied 25 points. Jaxon Hennies had 20 points.

Chamberlain’s Dakota Munger recorded 20 points, while Kenyon McCloskey had 18 points. Collin Two Strike added 10 points.


Clark/Willow Lake 68, Wessington Springs 35

HURON — Clark/Willow Lake raced past Wessington Springs for a boys basketball win at the Huron Holiday Classic on Friday.

Clark/Willow Lake’s Trey Huber had 14 points, while Kaplan Felberg had 12 points. Emmerson Larson had eight points, while Brady Johnson, Mitchell Larson, and Tyson Huber each had seven points.

Wessington Springs was led by Colby Flowers with 11 points, while Parker Graff added seven points.


St. Thomas More 56, Aberdeen Central 46

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 4 St. Thomas More used a 21-0 first quarter and held off Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

STM was led by Caleb Hollenbeck with 30 points and seven rebounds, while Will Green tallied 14 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Uhlir added seven points.

Aberdeen Central’s Spencer Barr tallied 17 points, while Carter Dingman had nine points.


Rapid City Central 42, Rapid City Stevens 40

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Central edged Rapid City Stevens for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Rapid City Central’s Cooper Totten led with 12 points, while Shun-Zi White Women had eight points. Jon Suarez added seven points.

Rapid City Stevens was led by Dayler Segrist with 13 points, while Hayden Gebhart had eight points. Nash Sobczak and Caden Dowling each had six points and six rebounds.


Lennox 66, Madison 32

MADISON — Lennox pulled away from Madison for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Madison’s Aiden Jensen had 11 points and five rebounds, while Thomas Mechels had nine points. Ben Brooks added seven points.

No stats were reported for Lennox.


Girls

Hamlin 39, St. Thomas More 34

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 3 Hamlin outlasted Class A No. 1 St. Thomas More in girls basketball action at the Pentagon Classic on Friday. 

Hamlin’s Kami Wadsworth finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Addison Neuendorf recorded 10 points. Brooklyn Brandriet added nine points, while Marissa Bawdon had five points. 

STM’s Reese Ross recorded 17 points, while Gabby Robbins finished with seven points. Scarlet Grimshaw and Jada Mollman had seven and six rebounds, respectively.


Sisseton 57, Chamberlain 28

SIOUX FALLS — Sisseton used a 22-4 third quarter to pull away from Chamberlain for a girls basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Sisseton’s Hannah Leverson tallied 15 points, six assists, and five steals, while Krista Langager had 14 points and seven rebounds. Chloe Langager had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Ruby Rice and Emmalee Nielsen each had eight points and five rebounds.

Chamberlain’s Jayna Handel recorded 19 points and eight rebounds.


Estelline/Hendricks 52, Langford Area 29

ESTELLINE — Estelline/Hendricks used a balanced scoring attack to earn a win over Langford Area in girls basketball action Friday. 

Brooke Johnson (14) and Sadie Johnson (12) led the Redhawks offensively. Kenzy Beare added nine points with Claire Dagel chipping in five points. Madelyn Ebbers contributed five points.

Alex Darling led Langford Area with 12 points with her teammate Megan Gustafson adding 11 points. 


Sioux Valley 54, Corsica-Stickney 32

SIOUX FALLS — Four players scored in double figures as Sioux Valley cruised past Corsica-Stickney for a girls basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Sioux Valley’s Landree Wilson scored 14 points, while Ashley Bjerke, Isabelle Bloker, and Julia Schneider each had 11 points.

Corsica-Stickney’s Ashlyn Lefers, Avery Broughton, and Braylee Bordewyk each had six points. Broughton grabbed seven rebounds, while Payton DeLange led with eight rebounds.


Viborg-Hurley 74, Wall 36

PARKSTON — Coral Mason’s big game pushed Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley past Wall for a girls basketball win at the Parkston Classic on Friday.

Mason poured in 29 points and 11 rebounds, while she scored her 1,000th career point. Estelle Lee tallied 10 points. Shelby Lyons had nine points, while Denae Mach recorded eight points. Madelyn Vasgaard and Charley Nelson each added six points. Nelson also dished out seven assists.

Wall’s Skylie Wagner had eight points, while Paige Kjerstad had seven points. Nora Dinger had six points.


Dakota Valley 68, Wessington Springs 57

PARKSTON — Dakota Valley outlasted Wessington Springs for a girls basketball win on Friday.

DV’s Jorja VanDenHul led with 14 points, while Melina Snoozy had 12 points. Emerson Mead and Cameryn Sommervold each had 11 points, while Sommervold also had seven rebounds. Sophie Tuttle led with nine rebounds.

Wessington Springs was led by Avery Orth with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Alyssa Grohs tallied 13 points and five rebounds, while Kirstie Munsen had 11 points and five rebounds.


Parkston 71, Centerville 46

PARKSTON — Parkston pulled away from Class B No. 4 Centerville for a girls basketball win at the Parkston Classic on Friday.

Parkston was led by Gracie Oakley with 24 points, while Faith Oakley had 14 points. Abby Hohn had seven points, while Lauren Ziebart and Keeara Oakley each had six points.

Centerville’s Lillie Eide, Thea Gust, Makayla Heesch, and Mackenzie Meyer each had seven points. 


Deubrook Area 52, Hill City 41

WHITE — Deubrook Area picked up a girls basketball win over Hill City on Friday.

Deubrook Area’s Kadence Bowne scored 16 points, while Ellie Koenig had 10 points. Skyla Petersen added seven points.

Hill City’s Lillie Ross had 15 points, while Maggie Taylor had 12 points.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 35, Moorhead (Minn.) 26

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln picked up a girls basketball win over Moorhead (Minn.) at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Kierra Lubovich led with 15 points, while Mariah Siem had 10 points. Addie Fawcett added five points and seven rebounds.


St. Michael-Albertville (Minn.) 54, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 45

SIOUX FALLS — St. Michael-Albertville (Minn.) outlasted Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls O’Gorman for a girls basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Mahli Abdouch led with 15 points, while Aweng Akoi had nine points. Lucy Moore and Kira Mentele each had seven points.


Aberdeen Central 44, Worthington (Minn.) 37

SIOUX FALLS — Aberdeen Central held off Worthington (Minn.) for a girls basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Aberdeen Central’s Taryn Hermansen scored 10 points and eight rebounds, while Anna Malchow had nine points. Taryn Hettich had seven steals, while Sydney Evans had eight assists. 

 

Benilde-St. Margaret's (Minn.) 56, Flandreau 45

SIOUX FALLS - Benilde-St. Margaret's held off Flandreau for a girls basketball win at the Pentagon Classic on Friday.

Flandreau was led by Claire Sheppard with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Lily Klein had 13 points and nine rebounds. Lizzie Pavlis had 10 points and 12 rebounds.


Lakota Tech 70, Mobridge-Pollock 45

ABERDEEN — Lakota Tech pulled away Mobridge-Pollock on Friday at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Lakota Tech’s Jodene Hunter recorded 23 points. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Charley Henderson tossed in 16 points.


Potter County 61, Ipswich 43

ABERDEEN — Potter County picked up a girls basketball win over Ipswich at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Friday. 

Potter County’s Kayden Cronin scored 15 points. 

Ipswich’s Gabby Wald scored nine points.
