Dec. 30 Hoop City Classic Roundup - Campbell County uses 16-7 fourth quarter to clip Bridgewater-Emery

Campbell County (Wyo.) 48, Bridgewater-Emery 46

MITCHELL — Campbell County outscored Bridgewater-Emery, 16-7, in the fourth quarter to earn a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Nash Lutgen finished with 14 points and five rebounds for Campbell County. Rylan Robertson added 11 points. Nate Williams recorded eight points, while Jeffrey Pelton posted five points and 12 rebounds. 

Bridgewater-Emery’s Sutton Arend logged 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Camdyn Stotereau finished with 13 points. Sam Hofer added nine points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals. 


Providence Academy (Minn.) 74, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 42

MITCHELL — Maddyn Greenway powered Providence Academy to a girls basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Greenway logged 30 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Hope Counts added 13 points and seven rebounds. Grace Counts finished with 12 points and 10 boards. Brooke Hohenecker and Ari Peterson scored seven and six points, respectively.

Thunder Basin’s Laney McCarty recorded 12 points and six rebounds. Kinley Solem added eight points and four rebounds. Peiytyn Williams and Joelie Spelts scored six points apiece. 


Tea Area 56, Campbell County (Wyo.) 53

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Tea Area to a girls basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Friday at the Corn Palace. 

Mara Grant finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Kendra McKinney added 13 points and six rebounds. Miah Weber had 12 points. Stella Peterson recorded eight points and eight rebounds. 

Campbell County’s Cami Curtis finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sydnee Strietz added 11 points, while Kaylie Neary scored seven points. Raimi Hladky added five points and five rebounds. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 68, Waconia (Minn.) 54

MITCHELL — Elk Point-Jefferson jumped out to a 17-5 first-quarter lead en route to a boys basketball win over Waconia (Minn.) on Friday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Easton Kempf led EPJ with 16 points and seven rebounds. Garrett Merkley added 10 points and four rebounds. Chace Fornia and Alexander Scarmon logged eight points apiece. Jakob Scarmon and Reed Sayler scored seven and six points, respectively. Jakob Scarmon grabbed seven rebounds. 

Waconia’s Will Kirsch finished with 17 points, while Jackson Hayes added 11 points. Chris Fulford and Soren Marker scored five points apiece. 


Totino Grace (Minn.) 64, Houston (Tenn.) 34

MITCHELL — Totino-Grace used a 23-5 third quarter to pick up a boys basketball win on Friday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Totino-Grace’s Tommy Humphries and Isaiah Johnson scored 14 points apiece. Johnson added eight rebounds. Jayden Livingston and Patrick Bath scored eight points apiece, while Bath grabbed seven rebounds. Taison Chatman scored nine points and collected five rebounds. 

Houston’s Brock Vice finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Mavrick Miller scored five points and grabbed four rebounds. Kameron Clark added five points. 


Dream City International (Ariz.) 61, DeLaSalle (Minn.) 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Dream City International to a boys basketball win over DeLaSalle on Friday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Jovan Milicevic finished with 12 points. Nait George and Tracy Kalonda scored 11 points apiece. Mathiang Maker added nine points and 10 rebounds. Marquese Joesephs had seven points, while Ibrahim Souare had six points.

DeLaSalle’s Nasir Whitlock finished with 27 points, six rebounds and four assists. Jaden Morgan added 13 points. 


Orono (Minn.) 73, Houston (Tenn.) 61

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to pace Orono to a boys basketball win on Friday at the Hoop City Classic. 

Isaiah Hagen finished with 18 points, while Kyle Kallenbach posted 15 points. Nolan Groves added 12 points. Grant Gunderson recorded 11 points and eight rebounds. Brady Wooley netted nine points. 

Houston’s Kameron Clark posted 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Mavrick Miller added 16 points and hit three 3-pointers. Brock Vice finished with 15 points and nine rebounds. D.J. Miller logged eight points and six rebounds.

 


 

Mitchell 62, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 52

MITCHELL - Mitchell held off Thunder Basin (Wyo.) for a boys basketball win at the Hoop City Classic on Friday.

Mitchell was led by Steele Morgan with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Dylan Soulek had 13 points and six assists. Colton Smith and Aiden Myers each had 10 points, while Myers added seven rebounds.

Thunder Basin was led by Kayden LaFramboise with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Bodie Williams had 10 points.
