Boys 

Sioux Valley 67, De Smet 58

BROOKINGS — Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley pulled away from Class B No. 2 De Smet for a boys basketball win at the Entringer Classic on Saturday. The Cossacks snapped the Bulldogs’ 24-game winning streak. 

Sioux Valley’s Oliver Vincent finished with 25 points, while Maverick Nelson scored 13 points. Patrick Carey tossed in 11 points, while Jace Christensen scored eight points. 

De Smet’s Damon Wilkinson logged 27 points and nine rebounds. Tom Aughenbaugh hit four 3-pointers for 12 points. Kasen Janssen had 10 points and five rebounds. Kadyn Fast logged four points and five rebounds. Trace Van Regenmorter posted five points. 


Winner 65, Sully Buttes 38

WINNER — Three players scored in double figures as Winner cruised past Sully Buttes for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Blake Volmer had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Aiden Barfuss had 13 points and six assists, while Norman Chasing Hawk IV added nine points.

Sully Buttes was led by Welsey Wittler with 20 points, while Thomas Farries added eight points.


Pierre 45, Sturgis 26

STURGIS — Class AA No. 3 Pierre pulled past Sturgis for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz recorded 19 points. Jacob Mayer and Jackson Edman scored eight and five points, respectively. 

Sturgis’ Jake Vliem finished with eight points. Tyan Buus scored six points, while Connor Cruickshank and Ryan Heinert scored five points apiece. 


Dell Rapids 64, Hamlin 52

BROOKINGS — Class A No. 3 Dell Rapids held off Hamlin for a boys basketball win at the Entringer Classic on Saturday.

Brayden Pankonen led the Quarriers with 26 points and five rebounds. Jack Henry added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Rhett Kloth logged 10 points and eight boards. 

Hamlin’s Tyson Stevenson and Zac VanMeeteren finished with 16 points apiece. Easton Neuendorf logged 15 points. 


Castlewood 53, Madison 48

BROOKINGS — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class B No. 5 Castlewood to a boys basketball win at the Entringer Classic on Saturday.

Lane Tvedt finished with 19 points, four steals and four 3-pointers. Quincy Thu scored 12 points and added three steals. Byron Laue had 10 points and five rebounds, while Booker Schooley had six points, five rebounds, four steals and seven assists. 

Madison’s Charles Callahan finished with 22 points and hit six 3-pointers. Aiden Jensen had nine points and eight rebounds. Ben Brooks added eight points and nine rebounds. Thomas Mechels had five points, while Eli Barger grabbed 10 rebounds. 


Iroquois/Lake Preston 54, Baltic 47

BROOKINGS — Iroquois/Lake Preston edged Baltic for a boys basketball win at the Entringer Classic on Saturday.

ILP’s Logan Peskey poured in 30 points and 10 rebounds, while Riley Casper had eight points and seven rebounds. Jake Larson added eight rebounds.

Baltic’s Mark Ditter had 15 points.


Girls

Bridgewater-Emery 39, Freeman Academy/Marion 29 

EMERY — Bridgewater-Emery picked up a girls basketball win over Freeman Academy/Marion on Saturday.

Hayden Hofer finished with 12 points, while Summer Koch had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Oakley Weber recorded nine points and six rebounds. 

No FAM stats were reported. 


Milbank 58, Clark/Willow Lake 39

MILBANK — Milbank pulled away from Clark/Willow Lake for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Milbank’s Maurina Street led with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Claire Snaza had 11 points and six rebounds. Isabella Anderson had 11 points.

CWL’s Alicia Vig had 18 points, while Tehya Vig had seven points. Kayla Jordan and Musonda Kabwe each had six points.
