Sioux Valley 51, St. Thomas More 44

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley held off Class A 4 St. Thomas More for a boys basketball win at the Heritage Classic on Saturday.

Sioux Valley’s Oliver Vincent finished with 18 points, five assists and three rebounds. Patrick Carey added 12 points, four rebounds and four 3-pointers. Maxwell Engebretson tossed in 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Alec Squires logged nine rebounds and four points. 

St. Thomas More’s Caleb Hollenbeck netted a game-high 22 points and hit four 3-pointers. Turner Thompson logged eight points. Jordan Uhlir added five points and four rebounds. 


Tea Area 67, De Smet 60

SIOUX FALLS — Tea Area outscored Class B No. 3 De Smet 25-14 in the fourth quarter to secure a boys basketball win at the Heritage Classic on Saturday.

Tea Area’s Blake Thompson recorded 21 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. Jonah Kocer added 16 points. Sam Almas posted 15 points. Reis Kirschenmann logged five points and nine rebounds. Garrett Wiebenga had six points. 

De Smet’s Damon Wilkinson recorded 25 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Kasen Janssen finished with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. George Jensen logged 10 points and six rebounds. Tom Aughenbaugh had 10 points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 66, White River 55 

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 3 Sioux Falls Christian pulled away from Class B No. 2 White River for a boys basketball win at the Heritage Classic on Saturday. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Ethan Bruns logged 23 points and 11 rebounds. Cole Snyder added 20 points and three 3-pointers. Britton Mulder recorded 13 points and three 3-pointers. Griffen Goodbary grabbed five rebounds. 

White River’s Joe Sayler logged 22 points and seven rebounds. Mackenzie Wike and Gavin Folkers scored eight points apiece. T.J. Beardt scored seven points, while Nicolas Marshall finished with six points. 


Dell Rapids 59, Aberdeen Christian 51

ABERDEEN — Dell Rapids handed Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Christian its first boys basketball defeat of the season on Saturday.

Brayden Pankonen tossed in a game-high 30 points, while Jack Henry scored 14 points. Rhett Kloth added 13 rebounds. 

Aberdeen Christian’s Ethan Russell and Malek Wieker scored 16 points apiece. Jackson Isakson added 15 points. 


Viborg-Hurley 61, McLaughlin 41

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to pace Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win at the Heritage Classic on Saturday. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Gage Goettertz tossed in a game-high 21 points. Brady Schroedermeier added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kobee Sherman netted 11 points. Nick Hanson logged nine points and 11 rebounds. Bryson Morrison chipped in with five assists. 

McLaughlin’s Raymin Yellow Earrings finished with 12 points. Cassidy Demery added nine points and five rebounds. Elias Sims tallied eight points, six rebounds and four assists. Renzo Bull Head scored five points. 


Sioux Falls Lincoln 67, Minneapolis North 59

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Lincoln to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Lincoln’s Tate Schafer finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and four 3-pointers. Elliot Whitney added 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers. J.T. Rock recorded 11 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots. Braxton Mohr added 10 points. 

Minneapolis North’s Zashon Rich recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. 


Worthington, Minn., 75, Canistota 46

SIOUX FALLS — Canistota’s Tage Ortman scored a game-high 30 points in a boys basketball loss against Worthington, Minnesota, at the Heritage Classic on Saturday.

Ortman finished 12 of 31 from the field, hit four 3-pointers and collected eight rebounds. Canistota’s Brandon Kjetland added eight rebounds. 

Worthington’s Jacari Swinea logged 14 points and seven rebounds. 


Moorhead, Minn., 83, Lennox 74

SIOUX FALLS — Lennox’s Porter Ihnen posted 32 points in a boys basketball loss against Worthington, Minnesota, at the Heritage Classic on Saturday.

Ihnen finished 13 of 24 from the field, 6 of 12 at the foul line, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists. Braxton Musser added 15 points on five 3-pointers. Conner Eich logged nine points on three 3-pointers. Tate Gerdes scored eight points and collected seven rebounds. Jaxon Plank posted five points and six assists.

Worthington’s Dylan Zimmerman scored 24 points.  


Mitchell 56, Spearfish 39 

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class AA No. 3 Mitchell to a boys basketball win over Spearfish on Saturday.

Markus Talley tossed in a game-high 20 points and hit six 3-pointers. Steele Morgan added 14 points and seven rebounds. Dylan Soulek recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

Spearfish’s Seth Hamilton recorded 18 points, while Antonio Serrano logged 11 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers. Dylan Doren added six points and seven rebounds. 


Mobridge-Pollock 59, Todd County 49

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock held off Todd County for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Jackson Eisemann and Michael Wald finished with 17 points apiece. Shane Henderson added 12 points and six rebounds. Kobe Goodshield recorded seven points and eight rebounds. 

Todd County’s Drake Espinoza finished with 16 points, while Oniya Whirlwind Soldier added nine points. Ty Valandra and Stacy Eagle Bear scored six points apiece. Ray Crow and Wakiyan Seluyn added five points apiece. 


Jones County 54, Leola/Frederick Area 48

MURDO — Jones County runed a four-point fourth quarter deficit into a six-point boys basketball win on Saturday.

Jones County’s Cooper Feddersen finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Jett Nix added 20 points and seven rebounds. Kaden Kinsley logged eight assists. 

Leola/Frederick Area’s Noah Kippley finished with 14 points, while Conner Spitzer had nine points. Hans Lapka had eight points and Brayden Sumption scored six points. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 60, Groton Area 56

ELK POINT — Easton Kempf and Jakob Scarmon combined to score 37 points to pace Elk Point-Jefferson to a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Kempf recorded 22 points, while Scarmon added 15 points. Garrett Merkley scored nine points. 

Groton Area’s Jacob Zak scored 24 points and Lane Tietz added 11 points. 


Flandreau 51, Elkton-Lake Benton 48

ELKTON — Paul Parsley and Alfie Henderson combined to score 30 points to pace Flandreau to a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Parsley finished with 18 points, while Henderson scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. Luke Sheppard added nine points. 

Elkton-Lake Benton’s Carson Griffith finished with 15 points. Tanner Drietz scored 12 points, while Ryan Krog added nine points. Tanner Stein scored six points and Quinten Poindexter had five points. 


Scotland 40, Freeman 39 

FREEMAN — Tate Sorensen and David Walter scored 10 points apiece to pace Scotland to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Rocky Ammann added nine points, four steals and three blocked shots. Ethan Balvin had five points and three rebounds. 

Freeman’s Parker Hochstein logged 13 points and eight rebounds. Cole Friederich collected seven rebounds, while Trenten Skorepa had five rebounds and three steals. 


Wolsey-Wessington 47, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 30

FORESTBURG — Ricky Maurovic and Blaze Herdman combined to score 27 points to pace Wolsey-Wessington to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Maurovic scored 14 points and Herdman added 13 points. 

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket’s Jeff Boschee posted 19 points and six rebounds. Bryce Larson had five points, four assists and three steals. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 81, Mitchell Christian 56

DELL RAPIDS — Nic Gaspar poured in 41 points to power Dell Rapids St. Mary to a boys basketball win over Mitchell Christian on Saturday.

Gaspar added 10 rebounds in the win. Trevon Beckman scored 22 points, while Trimmier Hanson dished out nine assists.

Mitchell Christian’s Aiden Lieber tossed in 24 points. Nahum Anderberg scored 19 points and Braedon Nebelsick added 11 points. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 53, Deubrook Area 50 

WHITE — Hitchcock-Tulare outlasted Deubrook Area for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Erik Salmen finished with 13 points. Carter Binger and Jackson Maynard added nine points apiece, while Brendan Nowell scored eight points. 

Deubrook Area’s Jake Jorenby scored 21 points, while Landon Johnson and Cooper Holmland scored eight points apiece. 


Vermillion 51, Redfield 33

MADISON — Vermillion pulled past Redfield for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Vermillion’s Bryson Skogsberg finished with 15 points. Carter Skogsberg had eight points and nine rebounds. Zoan Robinson scored eight points, while Carter Hansen and Wyatt Gestring scored seven points apiece. Gestring added five rebounds. 

Redfield’s Jerron Haider scored 16 points, while Mitchell Mack had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Justin Ratigan collected 16 rebounds. 


Great Plains Lutheran 65, Arlington 34

ARLINGTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Great Plains Lutheran to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

GPL’s Myles York recorded 19 points and six rebounds. Austin Rubendall had 15 points and nine rebounds. Alex Heil added 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Hayden Karli scored seven points and Landon Czerwan had five points. 


Huron 67, Sturgis 54

HURON — Reilyn Zavesky and Dylan Lichty combined to score 48 points to pace Huron to a boys basketball win over Sturgis on Saturday. 

Zavesky finished with 26 points, six assists and five steals. Dylan Lichty added 22 points and hit six 3-pointers. Dawsyn Rogers had eight points and four rebounds. Mason Davis and C.J. Gainey scored six and five points, respectively. 

Sturgis’ Ryan Heinert finished with 19 points and three 3-pointers. Jake Vliem added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dysen Petersen logged 13 points and seven rebounds. Gavin Lightenberg logged six points.
