Custer 71, Belle Fourche 32

CUSTER — Three players scored in double figures as Custer coasted past Belle Fourche in boys basketball action on Saturday. 

Custer’s Kyle Virtue finished with 16 points and Kincade Lehman finished with 14 points. Rhett Lowe added 12 points and hit three 3-pointers. Brady Virtue and Cody Dirkes scored eight points apiece. 

For Belle Fourche, Sern Weishaar recorded 16 points and Jet Jensen had 11 points. 


Mitchell 49, Spearfish 47

MITCHELL — Class AA No. 3 Mitchell outlasted Spearfish for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Mitchell’s Markus Talley finished with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists. Colton Smith added 10 points and eight rebounds. Owen Raml recorded 10 points and three rebounds. Gavin Hinker posted seven points and six rebounds. Landen Soulek scored six points. 

For Spearfish, Bennett Kortan finished with 14 points. Dylon Doren added 12 points and six rebounds. Mason Southern scored eight points, while Kade Vavruska had six points and eight boards. 


Castlewood 58, De Smet 38

CASTLEWOOD — Jamison Keszler and Bryon Laue powered Class B No. 2 Castlewood to a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Keszler finished with 23 points, while Laue added 19 points and nine rebounds. Kamden Keszler added seven points. Brody Bass had five points, while Luke Baumberger added seven rebounds.

For De Smet, Grant Wilkinson finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Noah Luethmers posted 12 points. Carter Wilkinson scored seven points. 


Wolsey-Wessington 54, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 50

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington clipped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in boys basketball action on Saturday.

Wolsey-Wessington stats were not reported.

SCW’s Grant Edwards finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. McCoy Schulz had 11 points and eight rebounds. Bryce Larson scored seven points and Payton UEcker scored six points. Landon Jensen totaled four points and seven rebounds. 


Great Plains Lutheran 67, Arlington 35

ARLINGTON — Great Plains Lutheran coasted past Arlington for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

GPL’s Hayden Karli finished with 17 points and five steals. Austin Rubendall recorded nine points and seven rebounds. Jarret Bauer had eight points and five boards. Micah Holien, Landon Czerwan and William Krenz scored six points apiece. Holien had five assists. Logan Burgan had five points and five rebounds.

For Arlington, Paxton Rheault had 12 points and 15 rebounds. Brecken Vossler added 12 points. Miles Antonen totaled six points and five rebounds. Jake Burns added six rebounds. 


Tea Area 60, Sioux Falls Jefferson 48

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to pace Tea Area to a boys basketball win over Sioux Falls Jefferson on Saturday. 

Tea Area’s Grifin Wiebenga finished with 18 points and six rebounds. Gavin Shawd recorded 14 points, three rebounds and three steals. Marshall Smythe totaled 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jaxson Merrigan added seven points, eight rebounds and four assists. Rylan Norris scored five points.

For Jefferson, Kuek Kuek had 16 points and three rebounds. Colby Nuttbrock had nine points and six rebounds. Damaris Fields finished with seven points, three rebounds and three steals. Jase Unzen and Mason Payne scored five points apiece.
