Gregory boys, Burke girls win team titles at Meet of Legends

BURKE — The Gregory boys and Burke girls captured team titles at Tuesday’s Meet of Legends.

The Gregory boys scored 107 points Tuesday to win the title, ahead of Kimball/White Lake (87) and Chamberlain (70). The Burke girls scored 81 points to take the team title, clipping Corsica-Stickney (79) and Gregory (70). 

On the boys side, Kimball/White Lake’s Lincoln Kranig won the 100-meter dash (:11.34) and 200-meter dash (:22.90).

Gregory’s Pierce Stukel secured the 400-meter dash (:54.89).

Wessington Springs’ Logan Mebius captured the 800-meter run (2:05.05).

KWL’s Darron Moeller secured the 1,600-meter run (4:59.44) and 3,200-meter run (10:47.93).

Chamberlain’s Xavier Donovan won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.85).

Platte-Geddes’ Gabe Fite secured the 300-meter hurdles (:43.96).

Gregory’s David Biggins, Colt Keiser, Landon Keiser and Stukel won the 400-meter relay (:44.60) and 800-meter relay (1:32.83).

Wessington Springs’ Nathan Gaikowski, Carson Finn, Will Grohs and Mebius secured the 1,600-meter relay (3:41.26) while Max Mebius, Finn, Sutten Jensen and Ezra Anson took the 3,200-meter relay (9:14.34).

KWL’s Chevy Fees, William Brennan, Kranig and Carter Konechne took the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (3:52.29).

In field events, Winner’s Jaxon Day secured the discus throw (176-05).

Gregory’s Aiden Grasch won the javelin throw (153-11) while teammate Colt Keiser secured the high jump title (5-11).

KWL’s Fees took the long jump title (20-02.50).

Chamberlain’s Tristen Johnson won the triple jump event (38-11.25).

In the girls’ meet, Jones County’s BreAna Aske won the 100-meter dash (:12.84) and the long jump event (15-11.00).

Corsica-Stickney’s Braylee Bordewyk secured the 200-meter dash (:26.41) and 400-meter dash (:59.23).

PG’s Taylor Schrank collected a title in 800-meter run (2:34.94).

KWL’s Alli McCord won the 1,600-meter run (5:40.54).

Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the 3,200-meter run (11:44.02).

Gregory’s Asia VanDerWerff captured the 100-meter hurdles (:17.02) and the 300-meter hurdles (:48.71).

Gregory’s Abby Holmes, Adelyn Veskrna, Dani VanDerWerff and Asia VanDerWerff won the 400-meter relay (:54.13).

Corsica/Stickney’s Emersyn Veurink, Sophie DeLange, Hadynn Johnson and Bordewyk won the 800-meter relay (1:53.53).

Gregory’s Sadie Carlson, Miley Janak, Aubree Miller and Abigail Engel secured the 1,600-meter relay (5:08.06).

Chamberlain’s Amelia LaPointe, Ava Schindler, Vera Nelson and Silvana Houska won the 3,200-meter relay (11:25.05).

PG’s Dulcie Veurink, Braelyn Qualm, Kori VanDerWerff and Taylor Schrank took the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (4:35.49).

In field events, Gregory’s Dani VanDerWerff won the javelin throw (117-05).

Burke’s Emmy Spencer took the high jump event (4-09) while teammate Daytona Paris secured the triple jump title (31-03.25).
