EUGENE, Ore. — Hamlin High School graduate and University of Florida thrower Gracelyn Leiseth placed 10th in the shot put at the NCAA Division I outdoor track and field meet on Thursday, June 12.

The sophomore finished with a toss of 56-feet and 6 1/2 inches. The 10th place finish earned her second team All-American honors. In NCAA track and field, the top-8 finishers are considered first-team All-Americans, while those placing 9th-16th are considered second-team All-Americans.

Colorado State’s Mya Lesnar won the women’s shot put, a few months after winning the indoor shot put. Lesnar, who is the daughter of Webster native and former professional wrestler Brock Lesnar, finished with a throw of 62-4.5.

The senior became the first Ram to win an indoor and an outdoor national championship in program history.

Custer’s Kellyn Kortemeyer, a University of Nebraska sophomore, was also in the shot put field and placed 19th with a mark of 54-4.75.

Elk Point's Kenna Curry, a University of North Dakota senior, finished seventh in the women's hammer throw. She finished with a toss of 223-7, earning her first-team All-American honors. She became just the second Fighting Hawk in UND's Division I history to gain first-team All-American accolades.

Curry bettered her own school record on her first throw at nationals with a PR toss of 223-7. That throw held up for the seventh-place finish and bettered her previous record mark of 223-1, which she set at the Summit League Outdoor Championships in May.
