Hanson sweeps Cornbelt Conference track and field meet

MENNO — Hanson swept the team titles at Thursday’s Cornbelt Conference track and field meet.

The Hanson boys recorded 200 points, finishing ahead of Viborg-Hurley (169) and Menno (146). 

The Hanson girls logged 229 points, ahead of Menno (111) and Freeman (94). 

In boys action, Hanson’s Keaton Weber was a double winner in the long jump (20-5) and triple jump (39-11). Weber also placed second in the high jump (5-7) and third in the pole vault (10-9). 

Hanson’s Brock Tuttle captured first-place finishes in the shot put (52-5.25) and discus (156-1.5)

Hanson’s Weston Kayser won the 100-meter dash (:11.33) and placed third in the 200-meter dash (:24.08). 

The Hanson boys won the 400-meter relay (:44.90), 1,600-meter relay (3:39.64) and sprint medley relay (3:58.64). 

Bridgewater-Emery’s Calvary Bickett won the 200-meter dash (:23.77) and finished third in the 100-meter dash (:11.51). 

Menno’s Bryce Sattler earned first-place finishes in the 400-meter dash (:51.77) and 800-meter run (2:04.33). 

Freeman’s Lane McCune won the 3,200-meter run (10:56.66) and placed second in the 1,600-meter run (4:55.89). 

Viborg-Hurley’s Luke Campbell was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.27) and 300-meter hurdles (:41.76). 

Menno’s Isaac Fergen won the pole vault (11-6) and Viborg-Hurley’s Andrew Madsen won the high jump (6-1). 

In girls action, Menno’s Ashton Massey won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.34) and ran the anchor leg on the winning sprint medley (4:29.42), a new meet record. Massey also earned a first-place finish in the triple jump (37-0), another new meet record. 

Hanson’s Alyssa Moschell won the 400-meter dash (1:00.94), while she ran on the winning 800-meter relay (1:52.40) and 1,600-meter relay (4:20.93). The Hanson quartet of Reese Marek, Lacey Easton, Hannah Easton and Eliza Oltmanns won the 3,200-meter relay (11:00.04). 

Hanson’s Olivia Kayser captured first-place finishes in the shot put (35-6.5) and discus (122-3). 

Hanson’s Cadence Jarding won the pole vault (7-3). 

Howard’s Melanie Calmus won the 100-meter dash (:12.73), 200-meter dash (:27.09) and placed second in the 400-meter dash (1:01.73).  

Freeman’s Rylee Peters won the 300-meter hurdles (:48.48) and placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.26).
